i'm finally going on my first off-roading excursion sunday (hopefully) to Shamokin, PA. i just took off the step rails, and am in the midst of painfully taking the mud flaps off...i just checked my tire pressure, and i'm 25 in front, and 26 in rear. what psi should i push it to, or take out for off-roading???

No need to air down stock tires, there's no benefit to airing them down. If you hit the beach or something, then airing down stock tires would help (although I've been in deep sand a lot with the stock tires and have never aired them down). When you are wheeling Shamokin, you will benefit more from the clearance you have by not airing down your tires. Also, there is a gas station just a couple miles from the trails in downtown Shamokin. ------------------ Michael GirardoMember - MAXC | Moderator - XOC www.avaloninternet.net/users/bythebay/xterra <---Redesigned

If I can talk the wife into this (Hell MIGHT FREEZE)....You guys are taking off step rails and mud flaps?
I assume they just break of f if they are left on?
And - I have the OEM Grabbers, 255/65/16...will they be OK, or like slicks where you will be?

Hope you guys had fun. I would be interested to know how the stock X's handled in Shamokin. Any problems? Did anyone leave the mud flops and step rails on?

Step rails would be not survive shamokin we all had fun there were 5 stock Xterras and 1 stock frontier and 3 trucks that had "SOME" mods stock trucks handeled everything great. there was one obstical that only 1 stock truck took and the rest had to turn around and look for a different trail, trails were icy and about 4-7 inches of snow ------------------

I dont think any one took a shot of that noone was ready the only reason you got stuck there was your CB craped out, and you did not hear me saying go to the right (thats is passable by stock ( i did it ) but not recomended) but that was cool wasnt it I just love that part when you drive up and you see nothing exsept sky , and it looks like you are going to flip backwards, but in reality the angle is not that steep ------------------

Also i heard on CB ( i think that was Pika ) why are you 3 trucks comming up that hill too close to each other and talking to Pika later, here is what you did wrong you folowed Mehdi too close, he was able to make it up but that killed your momentim, you stoped and did not have space to back down and hit gas harder becourse there was a frontier right behind you but i am sure now you see whats leave alot of space between trucks realy means ------------------
