what should i do

we were at nissan looking at the 07's and my wife and i loved them. i have an 01 x and the question is should i get the exhaust manifold fixed, do the s/l and 32's or should i get the new one and have no cash for mods for about a year. i have 74000 miles on mine.and yes the manifold is bad

the manifold should be covered by Nissan as a recall item
and I love my 2001 X, I wouldn't change. it's the classic look for Xterras

I traded my '01 2wd X in for the '06 XOR 4x4. The larger engine was very important to me, as the 3.3L was very underpowered - especially when towing my quad trailer. Going from 2wd to 4x4 was an added bonus.

In your situation, you already have 4x4. If you don't need/desire the extra engine power, I say mod the hell out of the Gen1.

Where are you getting this from because my '01 X needs a new manifold and the dealer wants $1100.

Well, not sure of your financial situation. I have an 04 that will be paid off (eventually). When thats paid off I'm going to keep it and buy a new xterra. I've been doing little things here and there to it now but I have to keep it streetable. As soon as it's my second car I'm going to mod the hell out of it.
