Hey guys, I've been here a while and don't really post that much but I was wondering about this lift. It says it's for 2005-2011 but will it fit an '03? I want to put 2" on my X because I just bought the 32x11.5 BFG TA/KO's but can't do the $1300 calmini 3".

You can get the parts for a 2" body lift for about $75

You'll need 10 2"x3" body pucks from http://zoneoffroad.com/product-acc?ki=91&gr

then you'll need the new nuts and bolts
(6) 7/16" x 6" x 14 (bolts) (the other 6 body mounts of the truck)
(6) 7/16" x 14 lock nuts
(12) 7/16" washers
(2) M12 x 1.25 x 180mm (bolts) (rear of truck by bumper going up)
(2) M10 x 1.25 x 160mm (bolts) (2nd to last body mount toward the rear bumper)

driveshaft safety loops spacers
(2)- 5/8"o.d. x 2" long pipe
(2) 10mm x 80mm x 1.25 thread bolts
The driveshaft safety loop spacer need only to be cheap piping. They need to be at least 10mm I.D. and 5/8" O.D. and 2" long. Try your luck with a local plumbing supply and you might be able to get hooked up for free.

some fuel line to extend some vacuum lines on the passenger side...

Here is a link to a How to on BL from www.clubxterra.org. It covers the install of the kit you can buy from www.4x4parts.com, but you will notice the only things they use are the pucks, bolts, and safety loop spacers...

Bigger question is why do you think you need a 2" lift? BFG AT/KO's at that size (285/70R15 or 16) "should" fit on your '03, IIRC. I've got 265's on my '03 with no trimming at all. With the 285 width, you may need to do a little trimming, but you should be able to get them on without the lift. Do a search. This has been discussed ad nauseum!

Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong!

You need a 2" lift because it looks sweet and make it easier to fit lager tires with out trimming... I actuall had to trim the plastic behind my front tires to keep from rubbing at full lock with 31" tires on my 01.... just sayin, and besides a SL really doesn't help you fit tires...

And I agree with you PP. It's just that I don't see where a 2" BL is NEEDED for the OP. He has an '03, just like mine. Maybe the '01's are a bit different. Shouldn't be, but maybe they are a bit.

Like I said, my '03 has 265/75R16 BFG AT/KO's (which are 32's BTW) and I did NO trimming when I put them on. Granted, I didn't have the useless mudflaps on either, but I didn't need to do any trimming. That's been well over a year now and I still don't have any rubbing with them.

So I can't see where his 285's would REQUIRE a BL. Yeah, it would make things easier, but required? I'd question it. And again, someone correct me if I'm wrong...

I know the 32's will fit at the stock height, I just wanted to put a couple inches on it so it would look a bit better. And I can't drop the 1300 bucks for the 3" calmini. I was going to do a suspension lift. Do you guys think it would be better to do the body lift instead?

ProjectPat, if all of that stuff for a 2" body lift only costs $75 bucks, I may just go with the body lift instead. How hard is the install?

I would love to have the articulation, but it would seem that it's out of my price range right now. So I'm going to go with the a 2" body lift then save up for a suspension lift.

BL is not just for looks... with a BL you can fit up to 33" tires with little to no trimming... even if you do a SL it won't increase the size tire you can run...

Tanker you can also do what is referred to as a poor man's lift (PML) it will give you 1.5" of lift front and rear for the cost of shackles and shipping. you can the set from www.4x4parts.com for $65+shipping. Also something to look into adding to complete you PML which would be the most expensive part would be to add shocks like ranchos or billstiens that are meant for a 3" lift. With the added flex you get the stock shocks will act like limiting straps when the axles droop. (you can even run the 3" lift shocks on a stock setup incase you do eventually lift the truck)

Okay, so I have been thinking about it for a day or two and I am going to go with the 2" BL. Are there any other parts I would need or things to look out for when doing this? Keep in mind that I have never put a body lift on before.

I noticed in that kit from 4x4 parts they have a radiator drop down kit. Would I need that too? I know I'm asking a ton of questions but I'm getting ready to order this stuff and just want to make sure I have all of it before I start the lift.

Hey tanker I included a link to a how to on www.Clubxterra.org in my first post about the BL. All you'll need to do for the radiator is remove the lower half of the shroud and possibly adjust/replace the upper hose on the radiator. Make sure to remove the bracket that holds the heater core lines. extend the vacuum lines that are located on the passenger side frame behind a heat shield. Remove the PS reservoir from the bracket and relocate the bracket and loosen the steering shaft.... ALL the info you need is in the How To thread.

Quick update, I have just about everything I need for the lift....except the metric bolts, apparently there isn't a single place in my area that carries them that long. So as soon as I figure out a way to get those bolts, the lift will be going on.

Okay, does anybody know where I can get those metric bolts for this lift? I honestly called every hardware store/supplier within 50 miles of me and nobody has them, or if they can get them I would have to buy an entire box.
