It's the single biggest sports gambling activity and no one's talking about it... How come? For me, my Red Raiders got the shaft so they get to go play in the retarded NIT. Oh well.

Anyway, what's ya'lls predictions? I see it coming down to Arizona or Kentucky... One of those teams, no matter who they play out of the south and east, will win, IMO.

Sucks how Arizona and Kenturkey got the royal shaft. I guess the real championship game will be held in the first round of the Final Four. Assuming of course that Kenturkey can get by Oregon.

I know that we have no shot what so ever at winning our first round game against Arizona but this is the first time EVER that Vermont has made it to the dance.
It's just cool to see them go this far even though AZ has a 99.6% chance of winning.

Two things I know: No 16 is going to beat a 1. Also, I have no 15's winning, and no 14's winning. My final four:

Kentucky
Arizona
Oklahoma
Stanford

Easy choices. Count on at least 2 #1 seeds being there.

Regardless of rankings, I think this tourney is all up for grabs. The #1 seeds all got beat by nobodies. Anyone can win any game, including the 16 seeds. It should be fun. I am looking for a final four of Cinderellas.

HA! Called the Tulsa upset! Called the Central Michigan upset! Called the Butler upset!

BUT...considering the only "big" upsets are ones I called...(I don't consider a 8/9 or a 7/10 game an upset).

OK, only three...but my final four are still there.

Well, 7 of those are still in it, but I got so many of the others wrong in the first two rounds, I'm out of the pools. I actually changed my brackets after I posted my picks here - I have Syracuse winning it all over Kentucky in the final. I'm afraid my fan bias finally got the best of me. laugh

Oh my, what a game. DUKE and Kansas down to the wire. I cannot believe that JJ Redick went 1-13 from 3pt land. And who is this Collinson? Geez, did he ever have the game of his life.

Collison is a god walking among us. Career best scoring against Duke in the Sweet 16 is awesome. He'll be a first round draft pick, probably top 10 if not top 5. Duke recruited him out of high school, but he chose KU mainly since it's closer to Iowa where he's from. His parent's drive down for all the home games.

Redick was shut down with Hinrich on him like a fly on shit. Redick's early shots were rushed, by the time Hinrich sat down with 4 fouls around the 7 minute mark Redick's rhythm was blown.

BTW I'm a KU grad and still live in Lawrence where the university is located. March Madness is taken very seriously here. I'm deaf from all the screaming in the bar I watched the game. Not to mention I had to be at the bar 4 hours before game time just to get in.

Break out the tissues and prepare for another 17 point drubbing.

Actually, it should be a great game, provided KU didn't blow its wad getting past Duke.

I was more worried about Duke, KU historically has a hard time with them. Arizona stomped us earlier in the year, but that rarely ever happens twice in one year. I'm more concerned about injuries, Hinrich took a hard fall and hurt his wrist, Langford was hoping around favoring an ankle late.

Unbelievably, in the only pool I'm in where money is involved, I actually vaulted into first place after Friday's games, though most of it is due to Thursday's wins by Kansas and Marquette. No one had MSU making the Elite 8, so that was a relief. I'm not counting chickens yet, though, because just one incorrect game will put me right back in the middle of the pack. I'm one of the few people that picked Kansas to beat Arizona, so that will be a key game.

The two best teams in the country played tonight and unfortunately Arizona lost. KU deserved that win and should go all the way.

Whew. I'm sort of glad that I went perch fishing with my brother during the time when Arizona and KU were playing or I might've developed an ulcer. Even though I didn't make the same changes in this pool as I did in the others and still had Kentucky winning it all, their loss to Marquette didn't hurt very much because all of my closest competitors also had Kentucky winning everything, except for one person. Ironically, that guy has Syracuse going all the way, which poses a dilemma since I would love to see SU win the whole thing, but for the purposes of the pool ($$$), I kinda hope they don't. shocked

One step at a time, though. If SU doesn't beat Oklahoma, it's all moot since almost everyone besides myself and this other guy has Oklahoma reaching the Final 4 and not Syracuse.

Go Oklahoma!
Go Texas (omg, did I just say that?) eek

I would love to see three Big XII teams in the Final Four to try and prove to everyone that it is the toughest and best conference in the nation. Maybe they'll learn to take 7 next time since my Red Raiders are rolling through the NIT.

Marquette
---------->Kansas
Kansas

------------------->Kansas

Syracuse
---------->Texas
Texas

At this point Kansas is looking a whole lot better. We survived the bracket of death, we're healthy and we beat Texas in the regular season. I just hope they don't underestimate Marquette and fuck up. Last night Lawrence was crazy. This is the fifth final four I've been here for and each time gets a little wilder than the last. The cops were really cool I talked to one and they were under orders to pick up the pieces if someone got injured and prevent property damage, but otherwise just let people enjoy themselves.

Well, it's pretty easy to figure out in the pool now. If Texas beats SU, I win. If SU wins, I come in 2nd and can't finish any lower, regardless of what happens in the Championship game. Since I will easily make back the entry fee if I come in 2nd, to heck with my picks - I want Syracuse to win it all! laugh

Texas couldn't handle Syracuse, so I guess it's left up to us. laugh

Marquette never knew what hit them. 18-4 run at the end of the first half and 18-4 to start the second. The game was over on the second basket of the the second half, after that it was just trading points.

The bar I watch Jayhawk games had people lining up outside at noon for a 3pm open and a line until close at 2am. The local cops went by all the bars to ask them to serve everything in plastic cups for the night because they weren't going to worry about open containers and didn't want projectiles out on the streets.

I'm happy to see Kansas and Syracuse in the final... at least one of these coaches is going to get his first championship after so many years...

Yes, I agree totally. I really hope it is Roy Williams though. For some reason I just like him more, maybe because his name is easier to spell than what's his name.

This ran in Friday's paper and provided inspiration to the team. From the number of times I got it emailed to me, I guess most of town saw it between Friday and today.

The is Capt. Brad Loudon with the 2nd Battalion, 70th Armored Regiment from Fort Riley.

THE CUSE!!!!

We have been waiting a long time for this. Nobody thought we could do it. It was a great game.

I honestly feel bad for Kansas. They are a stand up team with great players, but it was our time.

Go Cuse!!

I think I bit off all my fingernails. All I could think of when Warrick missed the free throws was Derrick Coleman in '87, but then he comes flying across the baseline to swat away the 3-pointer near the end. Woo-hoo! Now, I get to count how many people accuse me of being a fair weather fan as I wear my Syracuse jersey that I've had and worn for the past 10+ years. Hehe.

Have to say, though, that the highlight of the night for me was watching Roy Williams's postgame lockerroom interview with Bonnie Bernstein. He showed great poise with his answer to her question about the coaching job at NC, giving her the benefit of the doubt by saying he understood it was her job as a journalist to ask such a question. But, she followed it up with another one about the job, so he gave her (and her producer) a back-handed verbal slam. Unfortunately, the phrasing of his last words could be taken out of context - "I could give a sh*t about North Carolina right now..." - but, I'm glad he said what he did.
