Buffalo-NY Islanders: Sabres are going to roll. In 5. New Jersey-Tampa Bay: Brodeur has been on fire all year. Devils in 5. Atlanta-NY Rangers: Thrashers in 6. Ottawa-Pittsburgh: Heatley goes beserk, scores 4 goals in series. Ottawa in 5.
Detroit-Calgary: Iginla does well, Kiprusoff shuts down the net like Ft. Knox. Flames in 5. Anaheim-Minnesota: Hopefully Selanne can keep it going. I like the Ducks in 7. Vancouver-Dallas: I'm going with "Pile Driver" Bertuzzi and gang on this one. Canucks in 7. Nashville-San Jose: Oooo, this is going to be good. Nashville can light the lamp (highest scoring team in the west this year, I believe), but SJ is a little better on the goaltending. Should be a great matchup. Preds in 7.

Holy sweet fuck, the Pens look HORRIBLE.
Sens 2-0 early in the 1st period. Fleury is playing like shit. He looks rattled already.
I'm finding myself rooting for the Sens...actually, more rooting against the Pens. I'm just not a fan of Crosby.

Sharks win in 2OT, 5-4. Sweet pass by Patrick Marleau to Patrick Rissmiller who roofs it over Vokoun.
What a great fucking game.
Canucks up 4-2 now. That looks to be over.
Ducks and Wild tied at 1-1.

4-0 Wings going into the third.

Can someone explain to me why the Flames are in the playoffs? They play like a midget team out there.
They get outshot by Detroit 51-15! Just like Game 1, if it wasn't for Kipper, the score would have been 10-1. Ugly, ugly hockey.
Also, when you get out-muscled by the Detroit Red Wings....something is seriously wrong. The Wings have been made fun of all season with how wimpy they play, in terms of physical hockey. The Flames are making them look like the Broad Street Bullies of the 1970's.
Here's an idea...Calgary is done. No more hockey for them. Let the Colorado Avalanche try!

Sharks dominated the play, most of the game. Sharks PP looks horrid, but I'll take the win. Vokoun is the ONLY Nashville player who showed up tonight. Without him, the game would have been 7-1 easy. He played great. Kariya who? I think I saw his face on the back of a milk carton.

JMO, but Phaneuf is overrated...and a punk.
Kipper played great tonight.
Vancouver, Rangers, and Senators are one win away from advancing. Thrashers looked terrible tonight.

Rangers sweep the Thrashers 4-0. Brutal.
Devils win in OT on a sick shot by Gomez to tie the series at 2-2
Sabres win again on the road. Up 3-1 on the Isles
Sharks win again at home, they're up 3-1 on the Preds. Nabby stood on his head. Mike Grier is the heart and soul of this team. He's a lot of fun to watch. Mr. Hustle.

Thats going to get interesting. Buffalo to strong right now. San jose I dont get it. But they are looking like a team that wants it. Van vs. dall this sereis has gone the way I didnt think it would.

What a great game between Calgary and Detroit! Calgary evens up the series, way to go boys! Kiprusoff absolutely stood on his head tonight, he's quicker than I thought. Let's hope Calgary keeps up the pressure.
This was the first playoff game I've gotten to watch this year.

So much for Turco having the label as a playoff flop. Second shutout of the series.
All the shit I talked about Calgary for their first two games, but they play like a completely different team at home. Very strange.
I'm glad the Pens are done. Crosby can whine on the golf course now.
Ducks are for real. Very physical team.
Go Sharks on Friday night!!!

Turco has definetly played his best playoff hockey in this series. If they do go out to lose this series, it won't be his fault but the lack of offense as the nucks defense has been outstanding.

The only reason it was a relatively a low scoring game was because of Luongo yet again. They couldnt penetrate the Dallas blue line without getting smothered and losing the puck. The Canucks looked pretty flat out there and if they put up another performance like that on monday then they deserve to squander the series. I'd be lying if i said i wasn't nervous, the momentum has definitely swung but I think it'll be a great game 7 back home.

Good to see Detroit win that series...they deserved it. Kipper should bitch slap his entire team. 2 games they gave up 50+ shots.
How fitting that Franzen gets the series winning goal after getting slashed in the gut in Game 6 by McLennan. Karma, bitch.
I'm rooting for the Canucks BIG TIME tomorrow night. As a Sharks fan, I want nothing to do with the Ducks. Nucks win, and the Sharks play Detroit.

Congrats to Calgary for a great game six (and series) against Detroit! I'm glad Detroit didn't win while on that 4 minute high sticking penalty. I like to see a win when they are even strength!

Put the whistle away in these kinds of games, especially late. I think Vancouver got lucky with some of those penalties that went their way, but in the end...they deserved to win the game. They put a lot of pressure on Turco, and pretty much shut down the Stars offense. Good luck against the Ducks....you're gonna need it. I'm glad we're playing the Wings. I don't want any part of the Ducks...yet. My second round picks: West (1) Detroit Red Wings vs. (5) San Jose Sharks = Sharks in 6 (2) Anaheim Ducks vs. (3) Vancouver Canucks = Ducks in 5 East (1) Buffalo Sabres vs. (6) New York Rangers = Sabres in 7 (2) New Jersey Devils vs. (4) Ottawa Senators = Devils in 7

Even though I picked the Sabres and Devils to advance, I could easily see them lose as well.
It's hard to bet against Brodeur, you know? I know he didn't have a very good series against the Lightning, but when you look at a guy like Ray Emery vs. Brodeur....how do you bet against the Devils?

Eat your words.."much more talented Ducks" play their game and there is a way, they are big and throw it around but can be defeated.....
We are missing 4 of our KEY defence guys, and still managed to totally dominate. it aint over by a long shot.
and FUCK, yes FUCK all the fair weathered fans that seems to call the season for 1 throwed game, all over the radio, print etc. you either are a fan or you just follow....

i have to agree with my man Claus, the Canucks dominated majority of that game. It wasnt until the overtimes that Anaheim started taking over.
Both teams played soo well and that was pretty exciting.

I swear Wilson was almost triple-shifting him. The line combinations were as different as I've seen them since Guerin joined the team. I got a nice lapful of nacho cheese, too. A puck came way up over the net and hit the wall 2 rows behind us and the guy (drunk, of course) in front of me decided to stage dive in reverse right over my head. I might not have been been so upset if he had at least ended up with the puck.

Hats off to the Wings. The "dinosaur team" looked really good against my Sharks. They certainly deserved to win the series.
Sharks just never played a whole 60 minutes. I hope Ron Wilson gets fired. He's a great regular seasonn coach, but I think he's taken the Sharks as far as he'll ever take them. Patrick Marleau could get traded...he was invisible in the second round, and he's not much of a "Captain." Guerin was a terrible last minute trade. We'll lose Scott Hannan to free agency. I'd love to see the Sharks go after Chris Drury, and Brian Rafalski. We need an offensive, puck moving defenseman in the worst way. They need some playoff vets to compliment the stable of young guys....a player like Gary Roberts comes to mind.
Go Wings. I can't root for the Ducks. Go Sabres. The city deserves a championship.

As a wings fan, I can say I was very worried about the sharks. They dominated the first 3 games and were up 2-1. Something happened during game [5]. After that 4-1 loss, it seemed to affect game 6 for the sharks.

Is it just me or did The Sharks look tougher than The Ducks did last night?
Whatever, we won; I'll take it!

Well it helps that the Sharks only have 2 players under 6'0", one of which is the goalie, and their lowest weight is 195lbs... i think it's safe to say they are a pretty big team. Give toughness to to San Jose but credit speed to Anaheim

Well, it's nice to see people from other parts of Canada cheering on the Sens. I can say that I hopped on the Edmonton bandwagon last year, and I was cheering them all the way through after my Sens got ousted by Buffalo in 5 last year. Poetic Justice is a real bitch, ain't it Buffalo! Representing from Ottawa, GO SENS GO! GO SENS GO!

no, last year's Game 7 with Edmonton/Carolina definitely ended in June. I still remember getting my truck stuck after i couldnt bear to watch the game anymore.
I think it seems like its running late because our respective teams (Boston/Van) never make it this far...

Go Ducks!!! Since Canucks or Flyers are nowhere to be found. What will I do after the NHL season is over? Guess I have not choice, but to watch yet another Sox/Yankees game on TV.

I came close to getting the extra inning package. But the wife talked me out of it. I can watch about every Mariners game on TV here. So that will have to do. Thanks for the welcome. You will see alot of me in this section... As long as there is hockey talk. For that matter, I just got back from my game and got a shutout. So what I only faced 12 shots.

Get rid of the instigator rule. That would alow the enforcers to do there job. The more fights, the more viewers would tune in.

I agree with you, but keep in mind the lack of fights in the NFL and NBA hasnt hurt them on the ratings. The US needs fights to watch the NHL? i guess...
