Hi, can anyone help me with replacing the headlight assembly on both sides of my X? Do I need to take the grill out? How hard is it? I am not sure if these lenses can just come off to clean the inside, mine are very dirty, if so, how does just the lense come off? Any help would be great.

Yes, you need to remove the grill because the light assembly won't fit through the opening. Best to just put dishwahing soap or something in through the bulb opening, add some water, shake, and rinse. Then use a hairdryer or something to dry. You'd probably break the lens if you tried to remove it and clean them that way. Usually they just have dust in them anyway and just shaking the water and detergent around will get them reasonably clean.

And if that doesn't work, you can find them on eBay for cheap. For that matter, I have two that are in very good shape that I would be willing to sell. They have some dirt and scuffs, but not bad.

If you're really industrious and need to separate the lens from the reflector, I understand putting the whole thing in the oven at 200 degrees or so will soften the seal enough to separate them. I know an owner of an 01+ Frontier that used that technique so he could "smoke" the non-functional "shiny" part of his housings.
