I'm getting ready to make a long trip which I'm going to have to pull a trailer.Can anyone tell me if it's safe to go with the recommended 3,500lbs.in the owners manual or should I be more conservitive?
I'm driving from San Diego to Florida and I've never hauled a trailor that far and never with a V6.

If it couldn't take it, Nissan would be foolish to make 3500 lbs. the max rating.
Actually, it could handle the 5000 lbs. that the automatic is rated for, except Nissan doesn't trust 99% of the owners to be able to finesse the clutch well enough not to cook it.

I have had n problems towing with my 2wd, I tow my race car with trailer and the back of the X full of stuff. I think I'm right at the 5,000 lbs max, but no swaying and no stopping problems.

Thanks for the response.I doubt I'll be more than 1500lbs,but I was mostly concerned with the endurance factor of towing across the country in the middle of summer. I certianly trust my X and I appreciate all of your X-periance. I'll besure to post the results of my trip when the time comes!
