Yeah thanks for input guys. I have no idea why it is not working. Oh well, I saw it in person so I guess I can wait until I figure it out.

It really sucked on that hill. We had muddy tires, wet rocks and crater had developed in the middle of the hill.

Deranger and I made it up last time we were in the Black Hills so I know he and I can make it up. That day was just not our day.

I hope I'm missing something about this incline. Looks prety easy.........is that a two wheel drive?

Really, not being judgmental, it just doesn't look that hard.

Well, the incline is about a 35 % grade with rolling rocks about the size of your head and smaller.

It is very difficult. Like I said before, I have been up it once after deranger did it and I can tell you that it is difficult. A video and pics do not give it justice.

This is a pic of the same rocky hill. It looks pretty tame but I can tell you it is not. Wannabe can vouch for this. He was in my truck too.

That pic seemed to show it rougher, one of those deceivers!!

It's cool you guys have that hill to play on. Far from where you live?

Seems to me like the loose rock would present a good traction issue... But overrall, it doesn't *look* all that bad. It's very true though, that pictures/video don't necessarily tell the whole story.

I wish the off-roading trails that I've gone on with NJAX, NEXTerra and MAXC were a little closer... Places like the Pine Barrens and especially Shamokin. Not a whole lot around here...

I walked up to see where he got stuck. Deranger could have made it except for 2 ice patches...one under his left front (that takes out the front axle) and one under his right rear....and there really wasn't any way not to hit the ice.. Other than that I'm sure he would have made it.

We get the oposite of that out in the desert. An incline on very hard packed ground with a very thin layer of loose small gravel. Hit a hole or something on the way up and it's easy to be toast.

I was just on a run with the Southwest Nissan Club, and ran into this very problem. The guys with lockers just walked right up........makes me want to get them so bad.

That hill is a deceiver. Lttljess is right about the ice. The elevation we were at didn't allow for much melt of ice and snow.

When I went up that hill I was in 4lo and running right about 4000rpm and I was all over the place. You could pick your line when you started but there wasn't a chance to keep it. You were at the mercy of the hill.

The pics make it look tame but it is difficult due to bouncing and the rocks rolling out from underneath you as you tried to move forward.

It is about 5-6 hours away from our starting point and about 10 hours from where I started from. All in all we had a great trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota.
