How i Got my X by ME!:

I had been looking around at cars for a very long time, and i had basically settled on a new-gen X prob '05 so i could get a sweet deal. (end of 2005) I thought i had found my dream car.. very rare indeed : canteen, s- loaded, Khaki interior instead of gray, and it already had 10k on it. The dealer was looking for 20,500 and it seemed like a great deal at the time. I decided to take it for a drive down to my home town, and show my mom what i had found. Upon returning to the dealership to purchase my dream X, i was told it had been sold while I was DRIVING IT!@!!!! I couldnt believe it. The owner came out and tried to see if he could make a deal with me, for the next '05 they got in with miles, but they doubted they would get one in the same condition as that, for such a low price and so late in the year. So, the dealer offered my X i own now: a 2006 S- night armor, fully loaded, with reportedly 4800k on it for 20,500. I couldnt believe what i was hearing. I couldnt say "no" and put down the deposit to reserve it for when it came in. When it came in i had another suprise though: not 4800 miles as reported, but 2800, and still the same price. I can't believe my good fortune, and im glad i got the new 2006 because i got the VDC and (in my opinion)a much better color. What a story huh!?

Is VDC new to 2006 - I thought it was in the 2005's as well? Regardless - it was a good selling point for this vehicle.

vdc is not new for 06, i have it on my 05...congrats on the new truck...

Yes but it's standard in '06 whereas in '05 it was an option.

VDC came with an option package for the S. It was standard on the OR and SE models. Early 05 models that were MT did not have VDC. That came out in May/June.

That is a cool story. I'd hate to wake up every morning wishing you had the other color or model trim.

I once got a free 'no-strings' test drive in a dodge diesel. They had a guy inside working the numbers on it and wanted to put a sense of urgency on the deal since somebody else was driving his truck away. maybe you made the guy pull the trigger when he found out you were on the streets in 'his' X.

Since we're talking color: I originally thought I was going to get black or white. Once I saw the midnight blue, instant love! I'm glad I did it. 2006 S in midnight blue.
