To the majority of buyers, these new features will be welcomed. Keep in mind that those of us that wheel and still adhere to the "keep it simple" ideology are very few in the big picture. However, I hear what your saying. Personally for me, the two bonuses are the engine and the rear locker, the rest I don't care about.
I do agree with you on the e-throttle control though. When we were test driving it, it just didn't have that "feel". Oh well, like you said, there's not much we can do about that.
Overall, I think this redesign will do/sell well to the general public.
