cobb had put a thread up on one of the forums looking to do an ecu tune and i am building this xterra for a new magazine called tpr trucks that will launch with a feature on the xterra fourth quarter of this year hopefully so this is the launch issue feature vehicle.
they are in the process of looking into the nissan market. that's all they said on their thread as a request.
i am ordering the nismo headers and cold air intake as well as looking at various cat back exhausts and that was the primary goal of getting a baseline run done. i have talked to them about what if any changes need to be done to the xterra motor to accomidate the increase in breathing at both ends of the motor as far as ecu adjustments go but that's it thus far.
On a mustang dyno those are fantastic numbers (if they put in the corret parameters; IE vehicle weight) on a mustang a 6spd 287 bhp 350Z generally only pulls 210-220
Considering the X uses essentially the same motor as the Z and most other nissan cars, I can say N/A modding is a complete waste of $ and effort. A few ponies isn't worth the investment. To unleash the pontential of the VQ, you need FI; more specifically turbos.
Click here to see VideoBreathing mods like intake and exhaust will net you maybe 10-15 whp. For the investment, it doesn't seem worth it
