Just found that TJM and possibly ARB make steel side bars that run from the bulbar and under the doorsills to the chassis that suit the Navara dualcab. I think that they should with little work fit the X. A mate has a set on his Toyota and is very grateful that he did. He slid off the road and hit a post square on the front wheel but the side bar proteced the wheel and front suspesion from damage.

Maybe, but it's all but bulletproof, stout sumbitch. It's a backcountry fire rig.

Wait til I get my pictures back this weekend, I'll show you a fugly rig I spotted yesterday. Tacky tacky tacky...

Ahhh, firerig... Okay - that makes sense then. I didn't realize it was sitting in a fire station, heh.

Why not go with an enclosed vehicle though, to keep smoke, ash and what-not away from the passengers?

Thats them. On the Navara they are steel 3/4 length with a bolt on step. They really work with out getting in the way to much. They are also good at keeping other cars of yours.
