I worked this weekend on a trail clean up. I found myself making comments that I have heard from others...Why would anyone drive in a place loke this.

Independence Trail System

We were rebuilding protective devices - to protect the trees and native vegetation. Building what are essentially roll cages to prevent vehicles from hitting trees or even leaving the trail where not permitted.

Now, I want to go out and watch some people play in this area. My suspicion is that most either have head injuries, or will soon. This prevents them from really understanding the risk.

Hope that some day an Xterra runs this trail system. I doubt it will be mine.

Geesh Todd! Why didn't you mention that you were up there, doing that? I would love to see that trail. After my SAS, I want to do the harder trails (21 road, Holy Cross, etc.). Getting to see that trail network would've been sweet!

I went with some local guys from Pueblo. Sorry, I forgot there is someone who will want to do this.

Now that I know where it is, we'll have to head down there some day. Actually not too hard to find. A worthy road trip.
