While off-roading, not only on the Xterra. Heres my small (luckily) list: 1. 2 exhaust systems from the cat back. They were pinched shut & had to remove them to return home. (Ram) 2. 2 front auto hubs. Wouldn't disengage, had to remove the guts to return home. ('93 Ranger) 3. rear bumber ripped off. Took it home in the bed. (Ram) 4. Tail light lens. (Ram) 5. Surprisingly only one tire. (Ranger) 6. Misc. body damage. (Ram/Ranger) No broken axles or major stuff yet. The Xterra is not allowed to partake in activities that may cause severe damage, so sayeth the owner/wife. [ 10-02-2001: Message edited by: seamonkey ]

I turned a tumbleweed guard into scrap metal, thats mostly it other than a few dents underneath, chewed up rims and some custom trail pinstriping.

Things can be interesting without being useful. (Bay Watch ) I was just curious on what other Xterra owners are finding to be a/the "weak-link" with the vehicle. Sounds like the Xterra hubs maybe it. I thought I remember reading about a few hubs cratering in Ouray. I was just wondering if there was anything else. And, this forum seemed to be getting a little stagnant. I will probably never get to do anything hard enough to break anything with ours, umm, Hers.

Hmmmm. Broken Car/truck parts..
01 Xterra... 4" Vile Bog water in Cabin, Alternator destroyed.
90 S-10 Blazer.... 3 auto transmissions, Heater core, radiator.
83 Buick Regal/Grand national... Blown motor(snapped a rod), Destroyed all gears in tranny except for 1st, Blew out differential, 4 sets of tires (heehehe smoke em), Power steering pump, Exhaust ripped out.
86 Chevette.. Seemed like just about everything broke on that car. Motor went on fire. etc.
I think that about sums it up. The Grand national was my racecar, so blowing stuff up with it was kinda easy. Everything else was pure talent. heheheehe. L8r,

This one has nothing to do with a weak link in the X, except driving it into the swamp. .. I can only imagine your face when you started sinking... Originally posted by 01SalsaXterra:

hmmm... broken Xterra stuff.
MileMarker hub. my fault, needed to use a gallon of Lock tite.
Big dent in my oil sump pan. still holding fluids, due to a really large rock in the center of the road.
Ripped off my front skid plate (stock). Same damn rock.
Non Xterra....
I have an old Land Rover... I break stuff a lot. Mirrors, transfer case, turn signal lights, starter solenoid, the list goes on.

I broke one of the clips that holds the door panels on when I was putting in new speakers. And I was in the garage, so doesn't that count for off-road?
