Meh, I poke my head in here now and then, only to see it's still the same clusterfuck it became ages ago. Same tired questions being asked, and in all the wrong places. That, and the influx of second-gen owners makes my knowledge base half as useful here anyway.

Member #73 since 8/17/2000. Still 'wheel the Xterra 2-3 times a year, and use it to haul stuff, but otherwise it doesn't get much time on the road. Driving it right now because the GF had a minor wreck earlier this week and she's driving my Honda while her car is in the shop.

I wonder if I still have the highest post count?

I'd like to know what happened to my sticker I ordered/paid for? It was right around the same time as the large crash but I'm still curious as to what happened to that? If I can prove I paid for one can I get one now?

Hi everyone.

I still lurk from time to time. Had not really posted until I started having electrical problems.

My 00 X is still running fine (save the electrical problem..)and I just turned 90k!

I still tune Honda... built up a 98 coupe, sold it to a friend who totaled it about a month later. Bought me an old 93 DX hatchback and love it. Not much to look at, but I just put a nicely built b20 engine in it. Zips around pretty good. Probably nothing compared to anything XOC drives around I'm sure.

That's my daily driver.

Offroading in Georgia has become more and more scarce. I have a friend who lets me wheel on his property up in the Tennessee hills.Of course, there is still windrock too.
The USFS has closed just about everything in Ga. and finally closed Tellico last year.

LOL, I lurk from time to time...

Strange that I wa son here more when I sold the X for a Jeep... then disappear entirely when I get a Frontier...

Had my 2006 Frontier since May of 2006.

Still living in So Cal. Still an Anaheim Ducks fan... Same as it ever was wink

I was Member number... somehting low... 12, 20, something... but that was wiped out in one upgrade or another back when Ian still had the board....

Signed up on Day 1 when this forum was announced on the Yahoo group that started it all.

Seriously?

No "hey, we missed you"...
No "wow, glad you stopped by"...
No "wow, I figured you were dead"...

LOL

This place really is dead.

Heh. Fired up an old laptop and had this bookmark on my bar so I checked in. Amazing I remembered my password.

11+ years and the Xterra is still running, but needs some work to get offroad this year.

Not the same without Ian Firth giving me sh*t. Carlton, had a great time wheeling with you in Moab, even though those MRI's gave us all the farts. Your starlight photo at the "Airport" is still one of my favorites.

All the best.

Schludwiller.

Wow I can't believe I remembered my password... or that my account worked... what is the "Great Crash of 2009?"

I registered here back in 2002 when I bought my Xterra. Traded it in for a Grand Prix (wanted better gas mileage) when I hit 100,000 miles in 2007 and now I'm driving a GMC Acadia. I haven't really been on the board since then. Of every vehicle I have had I miss my Xterra the most but the Xterra is just not large enough for me anymore.

I happened by here just to see what's been going on lately... I see a lot of names I remember.

I didn't post much so not surprised if no one remembers me laugh

My relationship with my Xterra began in early 2002 when I purchased my 2000 XE used. Since then I've amassed over 140k miles, been places I never imagined, seen the unspeakable beauty of the American Southwest and Rocky Mountains and met some of the most wonderfully helpful people (also enjoyed good brews and hearty laughs with a few).

I took a moment to savor the memories just last week when I finally tossed out my original XOC t-shirt that was badly stained and torn, the faint smear of Ouray mud still visible on the shoulder.

The days of my relationship with my xterra are numbered though. My new professional job requires me to drive a lot and the X just isn't practical. I would love to keep the X and take it out on the weekends but lets face it; since I got married and had kids, I can count on one (maybe two) hands how many times the Xterra has seen anything more than a dirt road. I need the trade in value for a new vehicle anyway, no matter how small (I probably can't convince a dealership that having Shrock sliders, and full skids is an upgrade).

My wife calls my Xterra the "Banana Taxi" and refuses to ride in it anymore. So the search has begun for a new "responsible" vehicle. My heart will always belong to my X though. Believe me. At least I won't have to explain to every other knucklehead what a snorkel actually does anymore.

I check in here from time to time but I have to confess; my trolling here has been mostly selfish. I come here when I need something and very rarely come to share what little wisdom I've collected over the past eight or nine years. For that, I'm sorry. I should be a better member.

Anyway, I'm still here. I don't think I've contributed much worth mentioning but I've undoubtedly learned a great deal from all of you "old timers".

Awesome to see some of the old members stopping in. Good to see so many of the names.

I don't visit much anymore, but I still have my 2000 Red X. Still going pretty strong, when it gets driven. About 160,000 miles on it now.

cool

So an average post of one a month in this thread?

10 months now in Nevada and all I can say is... it sucks. To say it's a desert is fitting is so many ways.

The xterra is surviving. Finally put new tires on it. Passed 150,000 miles since being here in the west.

Joined in Dec 2000. Just traded my silver ice for a 2011 Midnight Armor S yesterday. Had 186k on my ol' 2000X. I still read up when needed. XOC saved me a ton of dough and time on a few occasions. Had a fuel sending unit go at a most inopportune time, searched xoc, drove wifes car to get a new unit and back to the X and slapped it in in 15 minutes or so. Part cost around $50. Dealer wanted a few hundred $$$ to do the job plus a tow.
So I owe a few beers there.
Made the timing belt change go smoothly too = a few more beers.
Stereo upgrade, dido.
Other recommendations instead of trial and error at least another beer.
Also had a great time with a bunch of east coast XOCers back in 2001 on the Outer Banks. Can't recall any names but I do remember we all had a blast.
