For anyone that follows racing I could quite possibly have some very exciting personal news in the next couple of weeks or so. As everything is coming together my life could be completely changed by Laughlin. Stay tuned.

Believe me. I wish I could say more. There are a lot of factors involved and it's killing me keeping everything to myself. But yes, on the exciting scale it is a 10+.

Good for you man whatever happens, when/what is in Laughlin? Seriously, we’ve been taking about having a Mex-X charity run to deliver goods next year and maybe a Baja 250-500 like one also; discussions with SLR and Nissan, you guys interested? What?

Stay tuned. Now thats just unfair to to tease us like that...Laughlin is the first SCORE race of '07 so I am assuming that either you are joining one of the teams there or you are somehow fielding your own team for the race...

To be honest guys, I'd love to lay it all out for you but there really is a lot involved. This is going to be a MAJOR lifestyle change and I will be able to spend my time doing something I love. I didn't win the lottery but the last few nights when I've been laying awake staring at the ceiling and making plans for the future in my head, it sure feels like it. So who's going to be out at the LDC?

So who's going to be out at the LDC?Not I sir...still out here on the East coast for now...Hey...is this new lifestyle change doesn't involve any major operations or trips to the hospital does it?!?! On a more serious note...if you can pull any strings in this new position of yours I would be more than happy to relocate to the west coast....or Utah too!! (thats for all you UXOC people...) I am feeling quite bored here out east....

So now that RG has officially announced that he and all his related teams are "Monster" sponsored (along with Andy Grider his co-dog, and Alan Pfluger continuing his Monster sponsorship as well...) do YOU have anything to announce Socal?

Three things happened today. 1. I gave notice that I was going to be leaving a company that I have been with for over 11 years. It was actually very emotional. I loved my job. I was hooked up and had a huge client base. For those that don't know, I was in multi-level corporate entertainment. My life was preparing , marketing, promoting. selling, procuring and the executing a variety of national and international incentive and marketing programs for executives and corporations. This included the World Cup, Olympics, multiple Superbowls, World Series', Final Fours, Masters, and any other event that people might attend both large and small. And I walked away....... 2. I had to go shopping. I either own VERY casual casual wear or suits. "Business casual" is a new concept for me and I realized that I don't own much that would fit that description. 3. I went and spoke to my new boss and the list of tasks that are ahead of me in my new job is continuing to grow. The nice thing is, that my expereince of buying, selling, promoting and marketing at the level I have worked will only serve to benefit me and my employer in the very near future.

So you’re trading in the flip-flops and board shorts for some hard shoes and slacks. Promoting/selling corporate products for the man? That’s if it gets you closer to what you like to do?

Brian, It looks like khakis and polos will be the new wardrobe. Can't let perspective clients see the ink when I'm shilling for the man. A lot of aspects of my business have changed. I am a face to face guy. I have but one voice. And I use it constanly. That's what I do. In the past few years a lot of regular customers in my business have ditched the old way of doing business and are turning to the internet for their entertainment and tickets. Uploading inventory to Tickets Now, Stubhub and eBay, while profitible, isn't much fun. While it's great for moving inventory, I'm bored. I am not an order taker or processor, I'm a sales guy. So I have had to focus my efforts more towards corporations with expense accounts and promotional budgets and market, plan and execute larger events while still working with a hand full of customers and their day to day needs. But with Ticketmaster auctions and all the other online crap, loyalty and customer interaction is falling by the wayside. To be honest, if this option had not appeared I would probably be stay here and be happy doing it. But a rare chance came up with one of the few teams with the resources and the profile to take on a guy to do a lot of things that they were either doing themselves or were not being done at all. It is also interesting how the skils that I have developed will greatly help me in moving to this new arena. I see a lot of potential that isn't being maxamized in off-road racing and I am going to have a chance to help it grow through this new career. This really is going to be a great chance to put my stamp on not only one team but the sport itself.

Damn!
It's bizarre leaving something after 11 years. I feel like I'm getting divorced from a really hot chick that I still really like a lot to start dating an even hotter one that is even cooler. It's very strange.
Eveyone at my new job to be has been really cool and very welcoming and it's very frustrating having to wait to start executing the ideas that I want to start putting into motion.

If you do guess or are able to connect the dots prior to an actual announcemnt or any press release, I just ask that you give me the courtesy of keeping it to yourself until an official announcement has been made. I just figured you guys would appreciate this since you are fans and such and felt comfortable talking about it to this degree since this is not really a racing or desert focused board. Thanks.

There should be a small press release out in the next couple of days or so. I promise it will appear here first. I've spent the last week laying in bed staring at the ceiling and considering the future. I'm pretty damn excited.

Baldwin Racing Welcomes New Sponsorship/Marketing Coordinator
For immediate release
Newport Beach, Calif. - Baldwin Racing is pleased to announce that Patrick Wagenbrenner has joined the team as sponsorship and marketing coordinator. “There are new exciting things happening here at Baldwin Racing and Patrick is going to be a key player on this team’s road to success” said driver Josh Baldwin
The skills Patrick brings to Baldwin Racing were developed during a lengthy tenure involved in the marketing, sales and coordination of a variety of multi level corporate programs revolving around major sporting events such as The Olympics, Super bowl, World Series and Soccer's World Cup. "Championship Off Road Racing is the most exciting sport in the world and with the exciting new schedule, I am looking forward to the responsibility of promoting one of the premier teams to potential marketing partners," said Patrick, a long time off road racing fan. He continued, “I am both honored and extremely excited to be working with a family and a team that has made such an incredible impact in both the desert and short course racing community. My family and I are very fortunate that I have the amazing opportunity to be able to pursue a career doing something I love.”
The entire Baldwin Racing Team is currently working on final preparations for Trophy Truck driver Josh Baldwin’s assault on the SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge. Having drawn first position off the line, Josh and his #86 Ford looks to be the man to beat in the fiercely competitive SCORE Trophy Truck field. For this event Josh will also debut the team’s state of the art Jimco Class 1 Unlimited race car.
Look for Josh, Patrick and the entire Baldwin Racing Team in pit row at the SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge.
Media inquiries please contact Patrick Wagenbrenner – Patrick@Baldwinracing.net

Guys, it's amazing that a family with such a history in the sport took and brought me in. Thanks for your positive comments. I am obviously thrilled that I have this chance.
I am going to hit the ground running at Laughlin and it's going to be a very steep learning curve. With so much to learn and so much to do there's never going to be a dull moment. Like I said, earlier, I have been staring at my cieling thinking of all the things I have to do and it's a bit overwhelming. All I can do is take things on one task at a time and do the best I can.
I am definately looking forward to the challenge.

It's become very very real. It's a big difference between being a fan and seeing a race and a team in action and being exposed to the work and realities of a top tier race team.

By the way. If anyone here is a marketing executive for a corporation that would like to link itself with a major motorsports team in a series that is on the rise please let me know. I would love to send you our sponsorship/media kit. Imagine linking yourself to NASCAR 30 years ago or Supercross 10 years ago. CORR racing is an outstanding value in motorsports and hitching yourself to our stars now will only benefit in the future as the series grows. Godaddy.com ? Patrick.

I always said that I would post new and cool news here first:
Ricky Johnson Returns To Championship Off Road Racing
Newport Beach, Ca. (February 5 , 2007) - Ricky Johnson announced Saturday night in front of a packed Supercross crowd at Anaheim Stadium, that he would be returning to Championship Off Road Racing. Johnson, a Baja, Supercross and one time CORR™ Pro 2™ Champion, has joined Baldwin Racing. Returning to the track for the full 2007 CORR™ season, Johnson, who provides color commentary for the CORR televised broadcasts, will be stepping out from behind the microphone and into an 850 horsepower Baldwin Racing prepared Pro 2™ truck.
“Driving the trucks for the television broadcast reminded me how intense it is competing in this series,” said Rick Johnson. “When I had the chance to race in last years Jason Baldwin Memorial Cup, I realized that I needed to get back into a full time ride.”
Along with his 1998 CORR™ Pro 2™ Championship, Johnson also has earned seven AMA/Supercross and motocross championships and multiple SCORE Baja 500 and 1000 victories in both motorcycle and truck classes. Johnson has also raced in the NASCAR Craftsmen Truck Series, ASA Pike’s Peak Hill Climb and was named 1999 ASA Stock Car Series Rookie of the Year.
“CORR racing combines the high flying excitement of Supercross with the door slamming action of stock car racing,” said Johnson. “To me, it is the most exciting form of racing out there right now and I can’t wait to get back into it. There’s nothing you can’t do in a CORR™ truck.”
Johnson joins Pro 4™ driver Josh Baldwin to form a formidable alliance for the upcoming 2007 CORR series. “With all of his experience, Ricky brings an incredible amount of talent and knowledge to the team,” declared Baldwin. “With him driving the Pro 2™ and myself in Pro 4™, Baldwin Racing is looking to make an impact this season.”
Baldwin Racing competes professionally in the Championship Off Road Racing series as well as the premier Trophy Truck class in the SCORE International desert racing series.

I got to know Ricky back in 1991, he drove for Chev/ Nelson and Nelson. I was the mechanic for Tommy Croft on the Mike Lesle Jeep team. We flew together a few times, he is a first class guy. Tell him I wish him good luck and hello for me, will you?

I don't think we have a deal with shocker gloves. And so far at the races I haven't really had the chance to "hang out" with anyone. It's amazing how much really goes on at a race.

B.J. is of the Las Vegas Baldwins. Different Baldwin. Those guys are driving the Bill Savage trophy trucks and don't race CORR. They operate out if the Collins/Ragland/Baldwin team.
