#437 - 19/06/03 07:44 PM I finally bought an X!!!

Hey all!

Well the time has come! Today I drove almost 2 hours into Jersey traffic from New York to buy myself an Xterra!! I left work early to beat the traffic and I still caught it!!

Well, it's the exact model that I have been searching for! It took me a month and a half to find it.

2001 Silver SE 4X4...
It's got 25,800 on it. Not too bad...

I have been driving it around all day, I think it's happy it finally got a break. I am not used to driving trucks so I had to be careful on the turns. It doesn't handle exactly like my Integra! hehehe.

Oh well, just letting you all know!

I know right, I was waiting for someone here to tell me to get lost since I've been posting but didn't even own one yet.

I have one problem that I didnt notice! I am missing one cap on my front rim. I guess it's the middle cap that says Nissan on it.

How can I order a new one and how much do they cost?

Thanks..

Indy

Indy, look HERE , or check out ebay. I bet someone here has got one laying around though.

Congrats on the new X. Too bad you had to get a silver one though.

I never heard of EWS, would you care to explain??

Also, is the owners manual online anywhere?
Because I bought this used, it didnt come with an owners manual. And in all honesty, I forgot to ask with all the excitement.

I have to give my sales guy a call later this week so I will ask him then, but in any case, is the owners manual online anywhere? PDF style?

Dammnn $32 bucks for those center caps..hmm...
wonder if anyone here has them cheaper....but not too bad..

Also, can I just use regular gas? Like 89?
Is premium required?

Thanks again guys,

Indy

1. 87 Octane is all you need for the regular engine.

2. The center caps on front do not say Nissan on them. They have open centers, and you can see the hub, which should say "automatic" if it hasn't worn off.

EWS = empty wallet syndrome....re-read southernx7's post!!!

...and if that doesn't clear it up for you, EWS refers to that fact that you will want to do mods or whatever to your X that will end up costing $$$, hence empty wallet syndrome.

Too cool!

You guys have all the answers!!

1) Regular gas indeed
2) Thanks for the manual
3) EWS? perrrrhaps... laugh

I'll have to look at the caps again, I forgot what they say or if anything on it, then order the correct one.

Now I know what you guys mean by the sunroof is useless. I took the basket off so I can pop it up some. I remember there is a mod for it to completely remove it(Frontier type mod?). I`ll have to do a search for it and find out how.
But I think that will be my first mod...

I can't stop looking at my X out my window!

Let me tell ya, I could not sleep last nite!
I just wanted to drive the darn thing all nite!

Mobycat,
Yes my caps actually do say Nissan on them, I just checked this morning. 2 of them say Nissan on the rear, and one says automatic in the front.

Olegkha,
I got it from a dealership in hilldale, NJ.
You got a cap for me!

Correct. The *back* one's say Nissan. They are closed caps. The fronts do not - they are open - the center is not there.

Yeah yeah, I know that Silver Ice is the most common color. But damn, when its clean and shiny, you can just see the lines and shape of the car.

But any color is nice, as long as it's an X!

Congrationulions Indy! I just bought my X today!
I can imagine how you want to drive it.... I don't get mine until Tuesday frown
Very exciting, once I get over the wallet shock (I have owned my current vehicle outright for many years). A nice new pewter X (I think it's granite in the U.S.), and the first vehicle I have owned from brand new!

mrfurious
until Tue. - 93 Plymouth Voyager (not an uncormfortable vehicle, but let me out of this money pit!)

Congrats to you too mrfurious!!

Once you get it, you're not going to be able to stop staring at it! I was up till 4AM the first nite I had it, which was just last nite because I kept looking out the damn window and seeing it sit there.
Break her in good and I`m sure she'll treat you well for many years to come!

Congrats to all those who just bought an X... including me! I got mine last weekend on a complete lark... A buddy wanted to test drive the new 300ZX for $hits and giggles... and I walked away with a new (Yes NEW) '02 SE-V6. It's much nicer than my Outback was, and costs me LESS in payments and insurance... can't beat that! smile
