Should the torsion bars have to be replaced on a 2000 X 4wd? I've got a very noteisable lean to the front drivers side.

Thanks

Should they be that soon. Not necessarily. They do and will sag after a while . Adjustment and reindexing can be done to get the right height back to OEM specs. I believe that there is enough preload there to be able to reindex them a couple of times withought having to replace them.

The OEM specs actually have the drivers side higher than the passenger side to compensate for the drivers weight so it's theoretically never completely even and level.

If you are sagging and adjustment doesn't seem to cut it then it should be a warranty item if you are still within the warranty period. If you aren't and you have to spring for them yourself then you might look into the Sway Away t-bars . They will give you a better firmer ride as they are a stiffer spring rate and have a little more room for front ride height adjustibility.

Well, got them adjusted. I was told that adjustments are only covered for 12mth/12,000miles but that if something was broken that was covered. I told them to take it up and tell me what it was going to be. Instead they took it up and spent 45min fixing it.
Then they tried to bill me for the time. I reminded them that I had asked for a desision on weather it would be a warenty item or not. Then ended up not charging me.

Hmmmm... No kidding? I never looked it up personally, and just went with the "even on both sides" approach... smile

What's the difference in height? I'm thinking that spec only applies to STOCK bars too, since the SAW/SLR bars are stiffer and won't tweak as much as the stockers when you get in...

I'm thinking that 20% less height on the driver's side would be enough. laugh
