2" lift

Installed SLR 2" shackles, Bilstien shocks and torqued the torsion bars up 1 1/2" on my 01 X. It took me about 3 hours to do all this alone. The shackle instal was the hardest. Even after reading prior posts and using two jacks, I still had to muscle them a bit. The shackles fit great, no play in them. I did, however, have to trim the bushings down on the top mount of the shackle bracket. The shocks I got were the 20% stiffer than stock version. The truck rides so much better now. My 31" BFG AT's and Bilstein are totaly worth the money and much better than the stock ride. Spoke with SLR in regards to a steering stabilizer. Apparently, they are testing a new Bilstien version that should be availible in another month or so. Guess I'll wait - might as well keep 'em all Bilstein. Anyway, wish I had bought 32" instead of 31" tires after seeing how she looked with the lift. It does look much nicer than stock, though. Any feedback on the 3" lift? -Tim

I was in Moab April 20th thru April 24th. We met up with Ian, & saw his new 3" SLR suspension lift. It looks really awesome, as well as Ian was able to manuver thru some areas on the trails I had to go around, even though I also have the SLR 2 1/2" rear shackle lift on my X... Still my front end was lacking the heighth I needed to take advantage of the really difficult lines on the trails we took with Ian... Oh well, it looks like a 3" suspension lift is in order before GOX in September. Thanx, ------------------ Andy x_whistler PNWX Member

Would you think doing the 2" rear shackles untill the full lift comes out would be worth it? Would be kinda nice to run a bigger tire..=-) ------------------ - Josh www.uxoc.org

You can run 32's without any lift, which is the same size tire that you can run with any of the available lifts. I have been running 32's for over a year and I added the shackles months ago - there isn't that much of a difference. HOLY SH|T! Carlton figured out how to shorten his signature AND use hot links.
