I did the 2" Body lift and followed Soccerbraces instructions, excellent guide. There were a couple of things that were different on my truck 2000model.

One of the body bolts has a brace around it and there are extensions in the kit to lower the brace to fit the 2" puck

The top hose on the following photo came apart, now I have a Service engine soon light on even though I fitted a new hose. I dont even know what this hose is for, anyone?

I took a long trip from Vancouver Island to Boulder Colorado, then Yellowstone, Alberta and home. I had zero problems and picked up some tires in Boulder.

Before and after

Some pics of the Xterra from the road trip

Looks much better...stick a pipe/pole, or what ever in to the tail pipe, and yank it up, then bend it down from the end until its curved out of the way more....that's typically enough, its hard to really do permanent damage to it...if it gets its end crushed between the bumper and a rock for example, just stick two screw drivers into it, and sissor it back open, etc.

Thanks TJ, what about that hose? it is on the passenger side/front wheel well, there was a shield there, but I took it off as it was the only thing rubbing

Hose is emissions stuff. Put a code reader on it and clear it. Or drive a while and it will go off. CEL should stay off if you didn't break another hose somewhere else.

Heh Snori,
That last night picture is awesome. How did you get the stars to be so prominent? What exposure or setting did you use?

The trip sounds fun, post more pics. How long did you go for?

MP3 X its just the interior lights.

Bueller44, thanks, it was 30 seconds at f8 and ISO3200 - I lit the car with my headlamp.
The trip was 10 days and ~5000km - there are Photos on my website http://snorrigunnarsson.com

That really is an incredible pic.

I think that hose is part of the evap system (which sends gasoline vapors from your gas tank into the intake to burn them off rather than just venting to the atmosphere). i.e. it shouldn't affect the way your truck runs. I believe the code will clear itself after awhile - or you could get the guys at auto zone to clear it for you

I've got a question for ya. I'm supposed to be doing my 2" BL this Saturday but I've pieced together just the pucks and bolts. Will I run into any problems not having the parts to extend that brace for the body bolt? I have a 2000 also.

WHat are you talking about? If you are talking about the driveshaft safety loop, then yes, you do have to get extensions if you choose to put it back on.

Oh and Snorri! That X is looking great.

PUT THAT SHIELD BACK ON!!!! The hose came off because your tire rubbed against it. Correct that with the turnstop bolts.

I meant the bolt snorri mentions at the top of the first post.

"One of the body bolts has a brace around it and there are extensions in the kit to lower the brace to fit the 2" puck"

And please excuse my rudeness snorri, the X looks great. I love that color on it, unfortunately they only had yellow when I got mine

its the pieces in the red circle

Probably very easy to fabricate or even find at a hardware store.

Thanks Soccerbrace, the hose went before I took of the shield, it was probably to tight after the lift.

Has anybody just tossed the brace and gone without it?

Never used any of that stuff. I just used the pucks, bolts, washers and nuts. That's all.
