If you have Warn, or Milemarker aftermarket hubs, can you wiggle something for me ?

I'm feeling a lot of play in the CV joints.
This isn't noticable with the auto-hubs, since they lock as soon as the axle turns.

If you get a chance, crawl underneath, and wiggle a half shaft back and forth (rotationally, around its axis). I get a rattle sound, indicating play. It sounds like a ring and pinion with too much play, but it is the CV joints, snce I checked it by wiggling the axle with the outer cap of the hub removed.

I would just like to know if anyone else can feel this.

Ian

I put the circlip and the splined washer back in the other day, and didn't notice any adverse effects wheeling a 6-7 trail over the weekend.

I just tried it. Warn hubs, unlocked. 22K of pretty light service. I have a little rotational play - maybe 1/8" or less.

Which sounds right, but is it noisy as all hell when you turn it ?
