Last week when I was having a new muffler installed the X was up on a lift and I got a good look at the t-bar adjustment settings. The drivers side has about 1/2" to go before hitting the stop and the passenger side is on the stop.

Today I had a chance to measure (on level ground, equal tire pressure) the distance from the ground to the top of the wheel well. They are within 1/8" of each other. I have not done any adjustments to the X since I bought her.

My questions: is it normal for ride height to be equal when the t-bar adjusters are so far off from each other? Will there be any adverse ride quality, steering or alignment effects by keeping these settings?

I need to get an alignment soon and want to have this corrected beforehand if necessary.

I've been checking out t-bar threads for a while and have not found anything similar to my questions.

Peace....speedfreak

not all bars are created equal... some require more preloading (cranking) then others to be even from side to side. It is also possible they one that is maxed out was not indexed correctly at the factory.. if you are worried, you can reindex them, But I would hold off untill you need to.. like the front is sagging more then you approve of, or you do a lift, or add a bumper / winch... then you will need more cranking room, and you HAVE to reindex (sence you are already maxed).. smile

Thanks, Xtopher. I'm going to do a slight adjustment just to get the one side off of the stop and will worry about reindexing if I add a bumper later.

Peace.....

Just might mean they're indexed a bit differently. Reindex them if you need more adjustment.
