Well, the 3" SL won't prevent rubbing off road, as the stuffage is to the same point..but the hwy clearance will be better.
There's no way that you are rubbing on compression, unless you have too little backspacing on your rims or added wheel spacers or something.
You may be able to turn out the steering stops a bit to prevent rub on turns, and/or, you may have to trim a bit more at the mud flap mounting ledge...I don't know where you rub, but that's the most common spot.
As for the 3" SL and steering kit...if you off road, and you have the $, then that's a cool thing.
If you have a PML and BL, personally, I would get skids and sliders before another 1.5" of SL.
If you already HAVE armor, then you would find (At least I did) that the lifted truck didn't have any additional wear than the stocker did...driving the truck with the steering kit made it razor sharp compared to stock...and the lift made it ride and handle better, except for ultimate lateral acelleration, which was slightly less, everything else was improved.
With the 2" BL/3" SL, I could run 305/70/16's on stock aloys w/o rub.
So - if armored, the SL would be great...if not, I'd do that first.
The armor makes it more reliable for a daily driver...mine is what I drive for work everyday...I don't want it to break.
