#422875 - 04/08/05 12:19 PM SAS for MY05

I'm interested in doing the SAS for my 05 X. I see that Calmini has a SAS kit on the market. Kinda of expensive but it sure beats having to design, fabricate and build from the ground up. Not to mention it's already tested by a board member/admin?. I also saw a write up by Carlton for doing this swap. I have 2 questions. Is this kit only compatible for MY04 and below? If so any 05 owners wanna help me research the differences in the suspension for MY05? Maybe we can get Calmini to start work on the MY05 SAS kit. :-)

Thanks in advance.
John

The kit is deffinetly made for the 00-04's..You'd have to either have something custom done or wait for Calmini to see if they are going to make a kit for the 05's and up..Try contacting them and see if they have any plans to produce the kit..

Damn, you're jumpin' on the major mods early... [ThumbsUp]

Too bad the SAS kit is only for '00-'04. The '05 is totally different.

This is what I thought. I'm sure it'll take Calmini some time to come out with a SAS kit for MY05+. I'm torn between going with the 5" lift in the interim (I really want to get 33" MT tires on ASAP) or with building a SAS kit from the ground up. I have a friend who is a welder by trade and also moonlights in a steel company (over the counter sales) that could help me out. I'm just concerned about embarking in such a huge project. Only if Calmini wasn't soo dang far away. I would've been all over donating my truck to help build the prototype kit. :-)

I believe you can fit 33s on an '05 with no lift at all, provided that you stick with the stock wheels.
