Sorry I had to bail out this morning. Not sure what is wrong with Anthon-e's leg. Physical Therapist could massage it, if mom or dad touches it - yeoooowww!!!!
Hope that the golden Spike run today was uneventful. Any pictures of my truck, please le me know. Clayton, I would like to see the video sometime.
Take care, nice meeting a few new people. plus, always good to see familiar faces each year.

Sorry we missed you. "Uneventful"? Ummm...No. Hell of a run - Incredible scenery, great group of folks, a little carnage, great times. I'll post my pics in a new thread (if I can upload them tonight I will...very slow wireless connection here...otherwise tomorrow night they'll be up).

You can never expect something good when you hear the doctor say - "I've never seen one of these in 17 years" Anthon-e is being admitted into the hospital. The hip has to be rebuilt. Basicaly the ball joint has seperated. I'll touch base somethime in the next few days. Kid was in a lot of pain..... Todd

I'll understand more in the next couple days, but looks like this happens occaisionally with 12/13 year old boys. The femur shifts out of the hip socket and the cartiledge prevents it from slipping back. He climbed more than usual and walked, but it was already bad before thetrip. Then Tuesday night he fell and knocked things out of place. They have to see if it is just the right side that will get a pin, or if it is a symetrical situation.
Glad I made the decision to come home rather than stay. Child was/is miserable. Staying would have only made things worse.......

Well, The following is what happened....... Slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE) is a hip problem that begins when part of the growing end (the epiphysis) of the thighbone (femur) slips off from the top of the thighbone. The fall in Moab brought the issue to our full attention. The X-ray on Friday shows a 2.5" bolt through the fremur into the epiphysis.....when he done with it I'll use it to built a deck...... Pretty stout looking bolt. . . . . John, Glad to see you guys made it home. I really wished we could have stayed longer, but a medical issue trumps most everything else. We'll touch base later. eh..... Todd

He'll have PS2 thumb injuries within a couple weeks. He is being a trooper....vicodin certainly helped for a few days. I was thinking more of a "finish screw", but saw the X-ray film...Holy Cow....That is a structural screw.
He starts School August 8th, so his summer is SHOT!!!! We got a wheelchair to take him out for walks, so we are trying to get more time away from the PS2/DVD/GBA, but it is hard to tell him not to play these when his options are limited.
