From a speech by Jack Collins ,Vice President, Product Planning Nissan North America, Inc. @
NissanNews.com ..." And, along with expanding our SE-R franchise, we’re introducing our first-ever NISMO-branded model, the 2005 NISMO Frontier.
It draws on Nissan’s extensive Motorsports and off-road racing history, including our current CORR effort, as well as Paris – Dakar.
The NISMO Frontier was developed in conjunction with engineers from NISMO, Nissan’s Motorsports group, which is known by enthusiasts worldwide for the coolest Nissan appearance accessories and hottest Nissan performance parts.
The NISMO Frontier features an extensive list of high performance parts, including:
- NISMO-spec Bilstein performance shock absorbers
- skid plates
- 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with BF Goodrich Rugged Trail tires
It also includes advanced off-road traction technologies, such as:
- standard electronic locking rear differential – which is available on both 4x4 and 4x2
- available Vehicle Dynamic Control
- Hill Start Assist
- and Hill Descent Control
Like all 2005 Frontier models, the NISMO Frontier is powered by a 265-horsepower 4.0-liter VQ V6. The all-new mid-size 2005 Frontier, by the way, will now be the most powerful mid-size truck available, with even more horsepower than some competitive V8s.
The NISMO Frontier, along with the other new Frontier models, goes on sale in late December."
