Hey Tbox,----Wait I might be confused---- are you at SEMA? Now that I pulled my head out my ass I see that you posted pics from ORC and RockCrawler.com.
If you can , look for some detail shots of the Armada with the stripped interior and Nissan Factory (Red , Black, silver) racing colors. It has a cool dash and cage and it's cool that they ripped out the entire interior.
Edit: It's actually in the third picture down, to the left of the Armada. You can just make out the beadlock wheel and the plexiglass windows.
But the suspension scared me a little.

I'm curious to know why Calmini went back to the original bumper design for the 05 Xterra. IMHO the tubing around the headlights would look better on an 05.

I think the fenders look clean and stay with the X's lines. I dunno though. I'd have been tempted to stick with the style I currently have that are more open if only to show off all of the work done under there. Since it's outside and not able to have a side with a wheel off or on a jack those fenders seem to hide all that custom fab work that they are promoting.
Boog, Calmini has a great relationship with Nissan. Nissan gets them a pre-production vehicle and they use it as a platform to make products off of. It is to Nissans advantage to get their trucks to shows for publicity.
The trucks do the show circut and then they hit the magazines and a year later they go back to Nissan.....
Sometimes, if they are not pre-production the companies have the option to purchase them for a dollar. They are referred to as dollar cars.

True enough and you blew my cover there. Those fenders, while they look nice, are actually temp. The fenders that will be on the rig where not ready in time for SEMA. They are more open like you said that they should be. If I were to fully compress the front suspension, I would probably break them. The wheel well is just not tall enough for a long travel set up. They would be great on a normally lifted X though.

I remember Calmini had a pre-pro Titan that they were building a bumper for LONG before it went on sale. I think it was even before the official photos were released. Wonder what happened to that bumper project anyway?
Nice to see Calmini has a bumper and SL in the works for the 05!

This is the Armada I was talking about. When I talked to the owner/guy who put the project together with the vendors , he told me the truck used to be the deep red burghundy color. The truck was painted silver and everything else is peel off graphics. The suspension looks a little sketchy. Those tie rods aren't going to take much of a beating either. If you look at the limit straps it doesn't look like it's going to have much down travel since they are allready almost tight at static ride height. It looks cool though. Lots of cagework. This is similar to the light bar concept I invisioned a few months ago. Dash is pretty racy: The new Art Schmidt CORR Frontier with the new body style. Wanna Race? It looks like the Titan is getting a lot of attention: It holds two tires and doubles as a jungle gym for the kids.

All the tube and metal work was done by Twisted Tin in Huntington Beach. He spent a lot of time on the interior and it shows. The brushed aluminum on the doors looks really cool in person. Kind of different on a vehicle. I used to have a table in my living room that was done the same way. No officer , I have no idea why you pulled me over. New sport: Bling Crawling. Thanks Smyrna! From what I could tell just from pics that I've seen, Nissan really represented itself well at SEMA. It looks like they have lots of project vehicles out and are really pushing their racing programs. This really seems to be staying with Nissan and Nissan Mororsports philosophy: From an interview and article back in July: “The connection between Nissan and Motorsports is pretty obvious, especially with our philosophy of racing what we sell,” said Stukenberg.
“Recent surveys show that our Motorsports participation positively impacts our brand, influences potential buyers and promotes strong word-of-mouth about the performance capabilities of our vehicles.” Look for a full blown Nissan Titan Trophy Truck in the near furure as well.

Splanid, SEMA vehicles ARE overdone. It's SEMA. The whole idea of the show is to attract as much attention to your products as possible. Some of these vehicles go way overboard. But those are the ones that allways seem to get the most attention. Also: From a speech by Jack Collins ,Vice President, Product Planning Nissan North America, Inc. @ NissanNews.com ..." And, along with expanding our SE-R franchise, we’re introducing our first-ever NISMO-branded model, the 2005 NISMO Frontier. It draws on Nissan’s extensive Motorsports and off-road racing history, including our current CORR effort, as well as Paris – Dakar. The NISMO Frontier was developed in conjunction with engineers from NISMO, Nissan’s Motorsports group, which is known by enthusiasts worldwide for the coolest Nissan appearance accessories and hottest Nissan performance parts. The NISMO Frontier features an extensive list of high performance parts, including: - NISMO-spec Bilstein performance shock absorbers - skid plates - 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with BF Goodrich Rugged Trail tires It also includes advanced off-road traction technologies, such as: - standard electronic locking rear differential – which is available on both 4x4 and 4x2 - available Vehicle Dynamic Control - Hill Start Assist - and Hill Descent Control Like all 2005 Frontier models, the NISMO Frontier is powered by a 265-horsepower 4.0-liter VQ V6. The all-new mid-size 2005 Frontier, by the way, will now be the most powerful mid-size truck available, with even more horsepower than some competitive V8s. The NISMO Frontier, along with the other new Frontier models, goes on sale in late December." So basically it comes with comes with everything you can get on a regular Frontier with the added feature of different stickers and a higher price tag. Hell, why not. It worked for TRD. Now tell me. What's wrong with this picture? Other than the fact that it is a thinly veiled attempt to disguise a super high end sand car/prerunner in the attempt of allowing it to be a street legal road going vehicle.

Yeah, I've seen 'em offroad, but if there's even the slightest hint of mud, they're shit. I watched an X on a grade of maybe 5 degrees just sit and spin all 4 tires in a thin layer of mud on a flat surface, even feathering the throttle to try and keep from breaking loose. Sad. None of the others had trouble.

Yes, I knew that. Everyone lumps the MT/Rs in with the mud-terrain class though, and they're right to do so.

The new Mt has an alternating lug pattern, the Krawler seems to have a different/more complicated pattern. Just my take on it... -Matt

The new BFG MT doesn't appear to have side wall lugs as aggressive as the old style. Definitely Krawler inspired. Maybe it's because lots of people want the Krawler tire but, they don't last long on the road.

Muddy - no, they have a different tread pattern than the current design...
And - Seem to require 20" rims...
So - Running them is an expensive proposition, especially compared to inexpensive Baja Claws....which you could mount on the rims you already have.

And - Seem to require 20" rims...
So - Running them is an expensive proposition, especially compared to inexpensive Baja Claws....which you could mount on the rims you already have. I've got a set of 15" AR Outlaw rims I'm waiting to mount some tires on. Right now, I'm looking towards the Baja Claw, but I'm really liking the new tread pattern on the new BFG M/Ts.

Ya know what they look like?
They look like the tires on some of the new concept vehicles I've seen lately....like the new Jeep concept that looks like a box. Strange looking tires though.....they look like they'll work!
