Is anyone ever going to make a vinyl carpet replacement for the X? I took my carpet out because it was moldy, now I'd like to put something else in. Rhino liner is too expensive and wouldn't really give me the look I'm going for.

dammit Ian!!! I know this... and I have stopped!!! But I still get in mud, my daughter still spills sodas, etc... I hate carpet... I'm just wondering if there's ever going to be an alternative.

Interestingly enough I am in the process of manaufacturing this. With racing motoX lots of dirt makes it's way into the truck. The process has been delayed due to work and the upcoming race season. I will try to update once the process is further. How many people would be interested?

I'd be interested if a complete set (front, rear, and cargo area) could be had for $100-$150. Any idea how much something like this would cost?

Some disadvantages: There are cable runs all over the place. Herculining over them would make them almost impossible to repair if an electrician fault occurred. Carpet has pretty good dampening. The Xterra seems loud enough with M/Ts and a buzzy engine. I can't imagine how much louder it would be without the carpet. Another thing about Herculiner is that it is very rough. It dries vary hard and is a real pain to remove any dirt or mud from. I have to use high speed spray on my Herculined bumper and rocker panel guards. Believe me, I’ve thought about doing the same thing but the benefits really don't seem to outweigh the problems. I would also be interested in the finished vinyl product though.

plans are to include a sound dampening underlay for some it may not be feesable for water intrusion, but plans are to have this unatached for those who might end up with floating floor mats

[/b]I do agree that it would take many hours of prep time and there are so many wires running through the vehicle that it would not be worth covering them up, and I don't want to leave them loose anymore... as far as noise is concerned, I hardly noticed a difference when I took my carpet out... it's been over a month now and it doesn't bother me at all... I'm just getting tired of looking at sheet metal on the inside of my $20k truck... also, Close1... how long till you get a finished product and what's a price estimate?

Yes, the hurculiner dries VERY rough. Like, it will cut you up if you rub it hard I've got more than my share of cuts/knicks when I accidently bump into my bumper that has it on there.
