Patrick, the kit will be available in two basic forms; one that utilizes the factory coil over shock and the upgraded kit that will include our very own CALMINI Coil-Over shock setup. More details to follow regarding this as parts are in the works. We have our coil-over design in testing and hope to have pictures and specifications in the near future. Cary, that is indeed an internal rack that allows for a little more cargo organization than just the floorboard. More than likely it won't be a production part unless we see interest. Keep the questions coming...

So are you (Calmini) going to start offering the built up version of the Xterra, sort of like AEV does to the Jeep product (American Expedition Vehicles) or am I just reading too far into this?

I only ask because you mentioned that the paint scheme is the only choice, in an earlier post.

That rear tire carrier might find a few buyers just because it hides the haphazard-looking arrangement of the rear hatch bulge, handle, and badging wink

Any hurdles to deal with to make the new rack-and-pinion steering work with the lift?

Steve, this new platform with the benefit of C/O's must be like manna from heaven for you guys after having to make due with a t-bar set up with limited options.

I mentioned the paint scheme as it was brought up in an earlier post mentioning the possibility of removing the graphics if they were decals. This is a project vehicle for Nissan USA. There were no issues with the rack and pinion steering setup and yes, we are excitied that Nissan is using a chassis design that lends itself to much more modification than the previous setup.

I really like the idea! [ThumbsUp]

Back in 2000 or 2001 some company gave SCCX a cheesy, flimsy rack that strapped down to the tie down hooks. It had hardly any room underneath and I was afraid to put anything even semi-heavy on it. frown

With the 2005 internal slide rail... CALMINI's looks like a solid AND quickly removable at base camp rack... so we could sleep in the back. If I had a 2005... I would definitely get that rack! [ThumbsUp]

If we welded the previous make of the sliders, would that not work? Is there a distance differance from the frame to the body or is it a length issue?

Along those lines with the sliders, it is apparent that the wheel wells flare down toward the sliders. In your first pix, the sliders look shortened by a bit. Is this true or just a shadow effect? Perhaps the previous sliders are too long because of that flare?

I really like the effort and design put into the entire set-up. I love the approach/departure angles! The interior rack is interesting from the perspective that you could sleep (legs) under it and keep your gear on the shelf. I like it too!

On the rear tire carrier, any thoughts on integrating a hi-lift attachment spot? Jerry cans?

Great work!!! [ThumbsUp]

It was a bitch getting those graphics off.
Perspective on the wheels/tires is a little off, but...

Like I said before great job on the lift. I'm impressed with the whole 5" of lift. Do you guys think that you can go higher then that or is that the limit?? Are you guys looking at the possibility of a body lift at all?? 3" of BL would be kick ass for a total of 8" and that could possibly clear some bigger tires. laugh

The original sliders were notched and angled opposite each other whereas the new style is a straight through type of bracket.
Robert, regarding the skids, they are the same ones in all of the pictures, it is simply the shadows changing the look as you predicted. They have a slightly different angle on the edges than the previous year X so it appears as though they are not quite as long.
The Hi-Lift and Jerry Can mount would easily be something we can add to this setup and possibly even the earlier year models as well. We are here to build the parts that you want. If you want it, tell us. [ThumbsUp]
Regarding the height, 5" is it. Any more lift and you are looking at some heavy modification. We are entertaining the idea of a body lift. It will largely be based on whether we see enough interest. Keep them coming...

Great looking lift on the 05. Did you guys need to trim anything to fit the 33" tires? And is it possible to fit larger tires with some trimming (plastic and sheet metal)?

I would be real interested in the tire carrier if had more carrying capacity. There is going to come a time that I will be in the market for one and I would really like to have the option to purchase a Calmini set up rather then be limited by other manufactures. The other option is not a bad one however.

Haveing options is good.

Steve, if it wouldn't be called [Rainbow] , I'd kiss you on the lips!

As it is, I'll just shake your hand at goneMOAB. wink

Still saving for the SAS kit as well.

Would you be interested in a contract for my first born? Would make things a bit easier for me. laugh

Very nice looking setup. Just wondering - does installing the front bumper have any effect on proper deployment of the airbags? My X will be a daily driver so I don't want to adversely effect it's safety. Thanks.

Damn that thing looks HOT!!!! The curves, the smooth lines.

When are you expecting the procuction lift kits for the 05s? Besides soon.

What are you doing in the rear for the lift? Is it the same as the 00-04 version?

Wow....with that kind of transformation, that is a sharp looking truck! Got me thinking of possibly trading the '03 for an '05... cool

WHY? If you like the look of the 04, buy an 04. I really don't see what theres not to like about them.

Not bad at all!!! I must admit that I didn't really like the 05 look, but now I love it (modified look, that is)!

I must agree that 5 inches of suspension lift plus another 2 or 3 inches of body lift woul kick ass.

Steve, you mentioned that anything above 5 inches would require heavy mods. Out of curiousity, what 'heavy mods' are we talking about, specifically?

What kind of wheels are those??I'd consider them if they weren't so shiny. Do they come painted?
I've been trying to find something I like, not as much out there as I would think. Someone needs to make a Minilite/Panasport type of wheel that will fit.
