Hello NJAX!

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I have been reading your forums here and on the NJAX site for a while now. I tried to sign up on that site but didnt work for some reason. I am a college student living here in Philly but am not from here. Philly = no mud but I do travel home every few weeks to do some wheeling. I am kinda new to my X but feel like i've had it forever. I went for a ride in my buddies Frontier in Feb and fell in love. 2 weeks later I sold my Saab, bought my 2000 X se and never thought of turning back. So far I have a Volant intake, AirAID Throttle Body Spacer, 31" BFG Mt's and ARB bumper. My girlfriend asked me what I want for Xmas and I told her a Gibson exhaust!

welcome to NJAX. a lot of people have been having trouble registering on the board lately for some reason. it was dead for a while, but has gotten a little more active lately so hopefully someone can fix it.
sounds like a cool X...just don't suck any water or mud into that intake.
where do you go to school? i graduated from rowan in '06...its about 15 minutes from philly

I go to PSU Abington. I've noticed that the intake loves the water and Mud. j/k When I installed the ARB bumper last week I cleaned the Intake filter. I couldnt believe how much mud gets in the enclosed box. I am thinking about a snorkle. How hard is the install??

I've been looking into doing a snork for a while now. The only reason I haven't is because there's just too many other things I need that are more important. I'm against CAI's as I don't think the good outweighs the bad with them but I know a lot of guys on here like them. Maybe you can join us @ our next mod day (even though it's cold) and you can get some ideas of money better spent.

I cant make it tommorow because of work. I work at Best Buy besides being in school. If you give me some time notice i can put in for the day off. Let me know when your next MOD day is. I just ordered my Shackles from AC Weds nite and my girlfriend ordered my gibson exhaust for my XMAS present! I also read a forum and it was talking about sea foam. So last night I went to Advanced, picked some up(along with oil and a filter so i can change my oil today) and that stuff is AWSOME!! I took my X for a ride this morning and it seems to run like it is brand new. I had a small ping noise comming from the engine and it is gone besides the truck just running better in general. Sorry for the long message just thought you people should know! I have 103K miles what else should I do for maintence?

time to start saving for the timing belt. most people replace them around 105k i think. it's not a cheap replacement, but it's a lot cheaper than what you'll have to fix if it breaks

I wouldn't do it myself. I think it's around 700 or so to get done because your also doing the waterpump, pulleys, etc. If you ordered from AC today you should have your shackles by next xmas..

Now all we need is a weekend above 40 deg so we can do them..and stuff on TJ's truck and my truck and Keith's truck. I'm not big on working in the cold so I've been avoiding doing anything to my truck.

LOL I learned NOT to skip the pre-flight check I normally did to make sure I was ready to roll. ouch Oh, BTW - I have your engine stand still...any arrangements to get it back to you, or would you rather it took up space at my place instead of yours?

Is the NJAX site done? I haven’t been able to log on for quite some time, not that anything is going over there. Just curious, might be nice to get it going again.

The site was never hacked, just some of the permissions let guests post and thats how the spam popped up. I fixed it all the other day as apparently I missed the Nor'Easter section.

Proceed by registering on another board. That board has been dead for a while. Doesn't the majority of NJAX's members post on NIORA and the Nor'Easter boards anyway?

Tom, your user name is Bklyn.X
Not sure if you are adding the period in there. If it still doesn't work I can reset your password.

I still talk to Jorge daily online, Rich and RJ sporaticaly but anyway. Perhaps you should just stay on your long island board there Salsa. You have not been part of NJAX for long enough that you saying that is club bashing from an outsider. To answer K_enn, Nor Easter has been given a new life with a new group. Jorge and I could not bare to see it die, but knew we did not have the time to run it this year. About 3 weeks ago I mailed the signed letter releasing Nor Easter from us to them. Hope they can do in 08 what we did in the past.

Sorry, I was a part of NJAX from the beginning when it was active long before you joined up. I just stopped participating. Sorry to see you turn your truck back to stock, but with a wife and a child I can understand. Sucks to see Nor'Easter go away as well. Good luck with things...

It's not that the club died, many of us became really good friends outside of driving our trucks and since we see one another almost daily, the need to communicate on the board wasn't as necessary. Heck we even let Steve hang with us once in a while.
