I kind of feel like streching my offroad legs. Something fun, not too hard, covers some ground and some good scenery.

I've never done Smiley, so I would be up for it, but no on CK, just way too long with the 2yold.

My sliders should go into powdercoat today.. If they're ready, I'd be down for some Smiley Rock action, or worse..

Smiley Rock is an actual Rock (ergo the trail name) on the "Great Western Trail" over Mingus Mtn. (near Jerome). The drop in is beyond the Potato Patch campground near the top of the Mtn along 89A. It's a relatively tame shelf road in a heavily wooded canyon at maybe 5k' which drains into a canyon whose floor is a 1/2 mile of boulders to crawl. There's one particularily technical section which goes on for maybe 30 yards. Some of that may have changed since my last trip there though. The rains up north can work wonders on this trail, and others like it.. Search AZXC (or N4W) for "smiley rock". There should be plenty of pics.

Flawless Custom Fab. Robby took his measurements out at my house and cooked up some 3/16" sq tube (for the inners) and 3/16" rd tubes (outers), then capped off the ends with wicked diamond shape caps at his shop, very cool . The legs'll be 2" sq, 1/4" wall to 1/4" plates with 1/4" gussets all around. They're exactly what I asked for.

OK sounds like everyone wants to go to Smiley Rock. Sounds great to me the only thing is that I have never gone so could one of you experienced lads take the lead on this one? Does anyone have any idea on how long the trail will take say from Carefree to Carefree? I'll keep my eyes on the post. Swanky, sound good to you?

Had a Sedona tour today and went through Jerome. It snowed the ENTIRE day- through Jerome (couple of inches) and then blinding flurries in Sedona. All the way back into Prescott nothing but white outs. What a fun way to make a living!

I'll post Broken Arrow with snow in a bit.

Yea- And LONG! trying to get everyone through the boulder field is going to tke hours.

I think I'm going to head to camp Verde and then over to the Strawberry area looing for real snow. Deep stuff that the kid can play in.

Yea- with the weather being as it is, I think that would be the most fun. make a snow day out of it and head to where the snow won't hinder the fun.

Alright, let's get to the McDonalds in Camp Verde at 8:30. We'll leave on 260 towards Strawberry at 9:00. Bring warm clothes and prepare to spend the day in the snow. We'll drive along FR300, head to the snow rec area (bring your sleds), and then enjoy lunch. It should be a great time, a nice way to end the year, wheeling with our friends.

I might be along for this one too. Gotta be back by around 5pm tho. So hopefully we won't be out that late. My little one loves the snow (And so do I)

Driving to work this morning I noticed snow over on 4 peaks, so it got quite close to town.

You sure you can get to the Camp Verde McD's by 8:30 am? You'd probably have to leave Carefree highway at 7:30 with a big group.
