Andy,
Sorry, I'm out of town and don't have my email to reference. Can you post some details of the Lower Ajax run you're doing next weekend. Shannon and I will be coming, along with two friends who will be riding along with us.
Also, I have two other friends (modified Jeep and old 4X4 pickup) who are interested in tagging along. They're both experienced 4X4ers. Not sure on our policy on non-Xterras but since we had a Jeep with us last weekend, I thought I'd check to see if they can come.
Thanks! Mark

That was no Jeep it was a Sheep, and you can only bring a Jeep friend if you are the President of the XOC and he is your boss. Just kidding, since this really isnt an AZXC run I would run it by Andy XID to see if he is ok with it. I am sure he will be.

Mark,
I just replied to your e-mail. Sorry, I've been away from the computer all weekend.
Everyones invited, bring your Jeep friend, bring your Yota friends, bring your Chevy friend, bring 'em all.
Here's a reprint of the original e-mail that went out: (Take special note of the State Trust Land permit stuff. If you have one, but you're friends don't make sure you let them know the concequences so they can make a judgement call themselves.) ---------------- For those of you who've heard the stories, now is the time to live them! Saturday April 5th I'm planning on running Lower Ajax and you are all invited(read that again, I'm inviting you on a run, so I don't want to hear any more gruff from you! ;-) )
This is what I would consider a technical trail, not extremely technical, but technical non-the-less. It's not fast moving, in fact it will probably take us 3-4 hours to go a mile or two. The trail runs through a wash, which should be dry by now, and contains many rocker panel eating boulders. With careful driving and spotting, you can make it through the whole thing without damage. When I first ran it, I did most of the obstacles with stock height and upgraded tires. Every section has a bypass, so you can choose what you want to do. Heck, even if you don't want to run any of it, it's a fun trail just to sit and watch.
When: Saturday April 5th - 9am Where: Meet at the Texaco in Florence Junction. How do I get there: Take US 60 to Florence Junction, look for the Texaco on the left side of the road. What do I need: WATER!!!! Snacks, FRS radio, recovery straps, front tow hook, STATE TRUST LAND PERMIT!! If you don't have the State Trust Land permit, you run the risk of a hefty fine if caught. The trail itself I believe is BLM land, but we must cross STL to get there. Remember the individual permit only covers you, the family permit only covers you and your immediate family wife/husband/kids). If you have a buddy riding along, they are not covered by your permit.
If you would like to come, please e-mail me at XID_AZ@yahoo.com so I know a general headcountand we know who to wait for at the Texaco.
Hope to see you there. Andy G.

Nice pics guys~ Wow,Mike L's truck is lookin tough! and BTW~ I was of the belief that anyone can go on our runs with us if they want to. A more the merrier concept that keeps us from being Xterra elitist (is that a word??) and spreads our knowledge of other vehicles and trails. We've had a couple different Jeeps, Pathy' and Taco's on our runs. Of course they can't be members though!

Mark, Andy... have you guys thought of joining a photo host that does not require an account just to view files?

If they can handle megs of files, I'm in. Do you have any host recommendations? I only use ofoto because I'm used to them. But wouldn't mind posting somewhere else as well if its easy enough...

for posting, the free versions allows you to create maybe ten albums with 10 or 20 photos. if ya pay for an upgrade you can create more albums with more phots.

I have a subscription that gives me the following.
250MB of Storage Store 200-500 pictures for one year, with the option to purchase more space.
-------------------------------------------------- Share your pictures on the web Easier and faster than sending your pictures using email
Unlimited Access to your original photos Never worry about losing your original digital photos
Discounts on all prints and gifts Get discounts on all prints and gifts in our store -------------------------------------------------- All for only $23.95 a year (less than $2 a month) You can also host pics for free if you only have a couple pics and rotate them. But for hosting multiple pics with lots of storage this is a pretty good deal. I use it as a backup for all my pics so if my HD goes down, I'll still have all my pics backed up on fototime.

I'll see if I can scrounge up like a 4 gig drive and donate it to the cause, giving AZXC members free Xterra-related storage. I would have to re-OS my machine to make use of the drive, but I'm willing to be a good samaritan if I have the time. :p Is there interest here, or should I not bother? For that matter, are we paying for hosting or co-location for azxterraclub.com? We don't have to...

Vaca,
I think it would be cool to have a place for all AZXC members to post X related pics....
And yes the club currently pays for annual hosting ~ you would need to check with Mike R. (XterrAZ) he owns the domain and handles the hosting.
Saving money on hosting would be cool... Mike also hosts his personal site on the same account, so that would need to be considered.
Contact Mike and get the details ~ this might be an option.
