Bring a camp stove to heat your chili once at the park. Bowls, napkins, spoons/forks will be provided. Bring your own drinks and sides if ya want. Desserts are always welcome.

Rules: Anything goes, run what ya brung!!!! Make sure it is suitable for human consumption, please.

Would love to have some SWANKy guys there too...I know AZ Run finshes up that day, but what better way to end it than with a nice hot bowl of Chili?

There was a ton of food last year, so feel free to bring family & close friends to enjoy and judge the entries.

If you are attending, let's post up what you are bringing so there is not too much overlap.

Cool, I was going to be bringing some, but don't know exactly how many are coming. I've asked a few people and got generic commitment. So I figured I'd make at least 4 boxes of the Jiffy stuff. MMmm!

SWEET! I actually love the jiffy stuff, especially for the price.

Check the roster a few posts up for a rough idea of who is coming. 4 boxes should be good though.

I'm getting the alcohol permit today so we are covered for that.

I'm thinkin' 8:30am to be sure. Not sure on how busy the park gets on Saturday's, but since the weather has been so nice, my guess is busy. Probably send the wifey for some coffee and bagels/donuts.

There is a playground close to the spot so I may play on the monkey bars or have someone push me on the tire swing while we wait.

I do have two backup locations just in case.

I won't know if I can make it till saturday. Headed out to do some camping tonight and Friday night, but if I can make it back in time I will be there. No chili though :-(

Keep in mind the Closure of I-17 at Carefree Hwy this weekend. Starts at 10PM Friday for both directions while they remove the old bridge. I heard them saying plan for an additional 90 Minutes to get through the area. :rolleyes:

We are moving the event to Encanto Park where it was last year. This is due to a fishing expo thing going on at Kiwanis that I found out about today. The spaces at Kiwanis have been booked since December for this urban lake fishing derby apparently.

There is also some OHV event/raffle going on at Table Mesa that Onix can fill everyone in on. Maybe a fun thing to go to afterwards to represent Nissan 4x4's...

You can use my burner since I beleive I used yours last year.

Thanks Timbo. IIRC we approved the funding of the annual chili cookoff beverages (wtr/soda) at a meeting last year.. I wasn't inferring that it'd be done otherwise..

We have enough club funds to cover the water/soda.

Along that note, I'll bring the new AZXC stickers in case anyone wants to buy one. They are $12 each.

No wheeling, but the ride up to the top of South mountains fun and makes fro a great pic over the city..

Got a call about 6PM. My Mom who was there is having something wrong (don't know yet) that made her go to the Hospital. She can't remember stuff and is really disoriented. They're keeping her overnight.

Had an awesome time eating and hanging out with everyone. Great job to all the cooks this year, it was a tough decision and obvious that everyone put a lot of time and thought into their chili.
