(6X.XXX.XX.XXX) file system check
The server is getting a manual fsck (filesystem check) done after the reboot. The time this will take is dependant on the amount of data but there's no way of avoiding it or speeding it up. Estimated time is *approx* 10-20 minutes.

Update: The server may need another 20-30 minutes as fsck is taking longer than expected. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

File system check is still going on on the server. An update will be posted once the server is back online

Hardware check on m02.modserver.com has been completed at the datacenter. Unfortunately the primary HDD was found to be faulty and had to be replaced. All accounts on the server will be restored from the backup drive once we finish installing the OS on the new drive. The bad news is that it can take 4 to 6 hours to perform an OS reinstall and fully restore all the accounts from the backup.

We realize that this server holds the accounts of some of our newest clients experiencing this outage early into their modhost.com hosting so we fully understand your concern. We would like to assure you that this type of thing has never happened here before. Unfortunately hardware failures do happen and you can rest assured that we are doing everything we can to make sure the server gets back online as soon as possible.

We will fully understand any cancellations. Please open a ticket with your account details and the full refund will be processed. As a credit for the inconvenience any customers affected by this outage who prefer to stay as our clients can request 2 months of hosting added to their accounts for free.

I understood your question. I was commenting on why Modhost doesn't have any preventive maintenance for their servers. They should have detected a failing drive and hot swapped it.

And how did you have an entire raid fail ? They are designed to not fail.[/b]

OS has been successfully installed on the new drive. We are currently in the process of installing Cpanel control panel on the server. ETA is ~1-1.5 hours. Once Cpanel is installed we will be able to proceed to backup restore process which should approximately take another 2 hours.
