Count me in for those Feb dates (Sat. is better). If I back out, I'll cough up the dough. Maybe the Ford Explorer guy who frequents this place will go too.

We are on for Sat Feb 21st in Lake Geneva. At this point however it looks like we have four(4) trucks going which is a little pricey. Roofgoat do you know the explorer guys website or E-mail?
I'm going to give a call to the chicago land rover site to see if any of them wish to go maybe do a little head to head comparison. lets see if we can get this thing going!

I am checking with the "boss" now. What's the cost look like now with only 4-5 trucks going? Also do we care if there are any Jeeps present, I have a few Jeep friends that might be interested? I won't be able to contact them till tonight though!

The price is $350.00 for the day for the entire group. With only 4 trucks we are looking at $87.50 a truck. I don't care if we have Jeeps come along with. I'm looking to bring the cost down a little. Ten trucks would be great I have already contacted Chicagolandrover.com to see if any of their members would like to come out. The more the cheaper so to speak.

bronco, that day is good. EAP, Ford Focus' are fine as long as they have tow hooks. Bronco, I'll let you pick a firm date on when we can commit to the number of vehicles, give the Rover guys some time.

Let me know what you need. BTW, should I remove my step rails. I don't want to do it unless its needed for this location. I know Badlands you should.

I have a quick question before I commit to this outing...Can a stock X handle the terrain? I haven't had a chance to get my BFG Mud Terrains yet, so I would be running basically, a stock setup.....If a stock X can handle it, count me in.

I can also bring two other rigs(Dodge Ram and a highly modded Jeep). Thank GOD Lake Geneva is only 30-40 minutes from my home!!

I'll be in if we get enough people. I just had a household disaster last week (living room flooded) and I can't afford anything too expensive right now! Trust me I really want to go and test out the new tires and shocks!

I still might beable to make this run, depends on what time you guys plan on getting out there, the earlier the better, got to work 5:am the next day. Also broncoX do you plan on caravanning out from Chicago?... How many trucks?...Is there anybody that knows the area stepping up to lead everybody?...
To anserw the question about the explorer guys, there are 2 of them that frequent the board. Splashman from Round Lake Beach and the other is Taxxman2k from Indianapolis. Might try posting on www.onandoffroad.com and www.chicago4x4.net to try and get more interest in this run.
Maybe those Indy guys can make the long trip out there. Taxxman, Trails, Takeabreath, and Rfritz you guys still around?

Fortunatly I got my job and unfortunatly I won't be able to make this run. I will be up in Wausau as of the 19th. If something changes and I am still in the area, then I am in. I will keep you updated...

The number of trucks is still up for grabs at this time. I'm hoping for ten trucks. As we look right now we have about five trucks.
Since I'm actually from McHenry and work in Libertyville, I will not be leading a caravan from the city. If anyone wants we can meet at the track or we can meet someplace along the way.
Everyone seems to be coming from someplace different. If we wanted we could meet some place on route 12. Say route 12 and Route 120 at McDonalds. For those of you coming from the city 94N to Hwy50 is your best bet. Let me know, I can lead if anyone wants. I was thinking of getting to Lake Geneva around 10:30-11:00am

I'm heading up to Conover WI tomorrow (by the border of the UP) so I might get a good offroad snow workout this weekend. Anyway, I'm in but I'll check back here Monday when I get back.

So when is the official date for this run? Feb. 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, etc...?

Also, If I do go, I will be joining you guys in the Caravan from IL on up. I'd be willing to join up with you guys at 12 and 120 even though it would be easier for me to jump on 47 and go north to Lake Geneva!

What is the total truck count right now? I talked to my Jeep buddy and he didn't sound too thrilled with having only 10-12 acres to play with. My other buddy....the one with the Dodge Ram....didn't hesitate to say definately Now he just wants to see if he is going to bring his truck up or tag along with me in the X :rolleyes:

Roofgoat,Mildew,Hawk,(friend with a dodge)and Myself.
We have several people that might go. Eap,Pinoy,and a toyota owner.

If eap can go and brings somebody with that would be great. If any body else would like to do this by all means lets do it!

I was thinking that we could wheel till we've had our fill and then head into town for eats.

I can ask around for a couple of guys with other trucks as well. I'll let you know.

OK, so with the 5 definates, that would bring the cost to $70 per truck. Pinoy, if you go and someone can find another truck to tag along, that brings the totals to $50 per truck. Mildew, anyone interested yet? I'm still workin on the Jeep guy.....

Directions are very easy. Ready, Head north on Illinois Route 12. to Hwy 50 west to Wells st Left(same as H).To Bloomfield rd Left to the lake Geneva Raceway at 1015 Bloomfield rd. Lake Geneva Wi 53147.

From northwest suburbs.
Route 12 can be picked up from 355/53 just exit Lake cook rd west then right on route 12 which will take you through Lake Zurich, Fox Lake, and Richmond. It then turns north and heads for Wisconsin.

From Chicago.
94 north to Hwy 50 west into Lake Geneva and use the directions above.
