You got me excited there for a second. I was born and raised there, and live about 10 minutes from their now. Did you see that on Badgerland 4x4 club? I e-mailed the prez of the club and he said that it was actually some private land that they were wheelin on. It was a friend of one of the club members. There is a trail that is used for the power company to maintain lines up in some pretty big hills. It's pretty decent, but small. I haven't been on it for about 8 years. Not sure if it is still legal.

I seen it mentioned on a chicago rover site as well as chicago4x4.com I have only seen pics and rumors. I don't know about the property being private or not. I know some of the members from Chicago4x4.com are a little foggy on what they consider tresspassing. So I don't trust what some of the members say. I'm about a half hour from Lake Geneva myself. So It would be a great location to get some of us out for a little fun.

DOH, I will be in this area during the same weekend as the Midwest outing is happening and I got all excited when I saw the title, I guess I'll just have to keep my plans of getting boozed up instead of going out wheeling!

Some vigorous day-off boredom searching of the net led me to a Chicago Land Rover club (www.chicagolandroverclub.com). They make regular trips to Lake Geneva raceway. Obviously not open to the public. If there's someplace else in SE Wisconsin I'd love to know.

O.K. Here is the news The area in Lake Geneva is private land behind the race way on Bloomfield rd.
The land is rentable. Our contact is Kevin. The area can be rented for $350.00 per day for the entire group. The more trucks the less it costs. Area is only 10-12 acres but would be a good place for training/learning purposes. They are open for group/club events only. laugh

Good work. Well, I am in...I can probably get another guy in (suzuki sammy). If we can get 10 guys, then I think it is worth it. Do you know the guys last name? I might know him...maybe we can get a better deal.

Anybody want to plan this out, get details and post? Where exactly is this place at? How far from the southside of Chicago?
[ThumbsUp]

BroncoX, yea that was me.

I would really like to do this seeing as my off roading experiences have been pretty limited. Hell I just got new tires and a new bumper so I'd like to put them through some abuse! Keep us updated...

I am not sure when I will be available for the next month or so now. I just got volunteered for a project at work and I might be needed on the weekends. The other reason is we came back from being out of town yesterday to find a stream of water spraying into our living room. We have to get all of our carpet replaced, all the dry wall around the busted pipe replaced, the whole room repainted. The kicker was it was spraying on the computer. It works, but my screen has no red any longer. I'm not sure it'll even stay working at this point. So I might be out of touch except work for awhile. I will try and make it if I can.

I'm in. I live about quarter mile from the Lake Geneva Raceway. Can't believe I've never seen these guys out and about here in LG.

Yeah, I'm out there, work and school have been keeping me pretty busy lately. If we get a group going depending on when and where I'd like to join up. I'm pretty busy February and March.

I called Kevin about February 22, but I have not heard back from him as of today. How many people can make this date?

Mildew! How long have you lived in Lake Geneva? I was born and raised in Lake Geneva and used to live about 1/2 mile away from the race track. What's your real name? I might know you. That Feb date will probably work for me, unless I get my job that I am interviewing for tomorrow. I might still be around anyways, if I get the job though...I will be moving up to Wausau. Not to excited about good ol Wausau, but will make the most out of it. Anybody got any info about the area? My wife went to Point, and I went to Stout, so I am kinda familiar with the area...just not Wausau.

O.k I just heard from Kevin the 21st or 22nd of February is open lets get it nailed down quick.
The more people we have the less it will cost. Again 10 trucks would be great.
Thank You
