...when I turn on my lights. Just a black screen. Any idea how to fix this or which fuse it may be? I checked the ones I thought might cause this, but no luck.

Is your X a 2000 or 2001 with the original radio? Does it have a blue display on a black background?

The 2000 and 2001 original radios dim the fluorescent display when you turn on the lights. The idea is so that it will not be blindingly bright at night. If it is still daytime the display appears so dim that it is near impossible to see. I don't know of any work-around for this.

it is a 2000 with the original radio w/ 1 disc player. Display is green on black background. Just realized that my interior light dimmer might have gotten turned all the way down. I'll check that. If that is it, I'm gonna look real dumb.

Not to worry. I spent the better part of a day once fretting about the dash lights for exactly that reason. Yes, I did feel dumb afterward but survived the trauma.
