These were taken on a NEXTerra trip back on October 13th.
It was a rainy day, but I was looking forward to the trail. I was hoping to have my new tires in for this trip, but since they hadn't arrived, this was going to be the last wheling trip for the 30" BFG AT KO's I was running on my AR 767 rims.

This was taken in the first water pit we came across. I had to take this cause I kept hanging up on the roots on the bypass (a nasty little hill). If you notice the guy in the background on the left, he took the next Pic...

Where you can see the girl taking the first photo (blue shirt with orange sleeves). I thought that having 2 angles of almost exactly the same spot is pretty neat. The area just behind the back of the X is the deepest part of the pit, as vehicles have bogged it down while trying to bump over the lip to get out.

I wasn't too worried, as I had learned some imprtant mudding/water cross tips from the kings of Mud and Swamps, the members of FLXX. (The stickers will be going on soon)

A little while later, we came across a mudpit. After watching the guys with 6" of lift and either 32" tires and 35" tires go through, I thought why not let the little guy show up the Big boys a little bit. Maybe I got a little too much sun in Florida...


Because in I went. Yep, you might be able to tell that the pit was just a little on deep side.
And of course...

I got stuck.
Thankfully I didn't stall out, as the exhaust was under the mud/water level. If I had stalled, I would've had a muffler full of mud. I had to rev the engine to keep the exhaust clear and I saw mud flying up in the air in my side view mirror each time I did. That's when it dawned on me that this wasn't the brightest idea I'd ever had.
However I did learn to mud from the FLXX'ers, so I wasn't worried...I'd get tugged out and keep on wheeling
And So, Stormy gave me a tug out.

Yep. You can see the flat rear tire right away. You can see the girl on the right with her hand in front of her face as she began to laugh her a$$ off. You can also see the massive amount of mud and water on the side of the Xterra.
What you can't see so well in this picture is the flat front right tire.
That's right - 1 pit, 2 Flat tires.
What made this more funny is that this made for 4 flats in 30 days (1 in Bartlett NH, 1 on the Beach in Cape Cod, and 2 in Connecticut). What made it hilarious was that I had put on the BFG's because the other 2 flats had been General Grabbers (3 flat Grabbers - 2 sidewalls)

I got to put on yet another Spare tire demonstration (I am getting wicked good at changing flat tires ), and I borrowed a spare from another owner (Jura) to be able to make it home. So, a 31" TrXus went on the front (aired down a lot to level things out). I thankfully hadn't ditched the stock tires yet, so I at least had a set to fall back on once I got home.

In reality, the pit was the bypass, but no one was anxious to go into that mess...until after I went through.

Yep, he ran the pit both ways (the only one to do so).

And he was also the only one not to get stuck in the pit, but then no one tried the pit after my attempt.
