I went out to visit the Summerstown trail where I got stuck in last year, and see if it was finally open.

It was!... I was alone and am still sporting street tires so I didn't go nuts...but there are lots of places for some good stuckings that I avoided...enjoy

That pile of garbage looks like every trail I've been on here in BC within car's reach from the highway, and many times even way deep in the middle of nowhere. What the hell is wrong with people?

This was on a beach about 50 KMs away from the nearest road, and is sadly typical.

Isn't it more trouble to haul all your shit out to the middle of nowhere to dump it than just to throw it away or take it to the dump? Plus it ruins the places that are supposed to remain natural.

I cheked it before going through...I wouldn't have called it "mud", it was more like "lightly coloured water sitting on hard packed dirt".

Didn't even have to put in 4x4.

It looks like some folks are using the entrance as some kind of dump...it's pretty disturbing, there's a pile of tires a pile of electronics, a pile for shopping carts for some reason.

Other than that the trail is pretty scenic and not very difficult. I just can't wait to be able to afford some new rubber so I can explore the whole thing...Come On Income Tax!!!!

Maybe the Xterra club up there could initiate some sort of clean-up day for that area? The club would look real good in the eyes of the DNR, or whoever it is up there in Canada. Just a thought.
