Gotta love it!
I think that their pride was damaged more than the truck.

He must have been stuck pretty good for it to take 2 Xs to free him. How did he expect to get out with out you? The new bumper looks great, I hope the Jeepers appreciated it!

The bumper is great, having a winch on these Xcursions is really nice. But, I think winching this Jeep popped the thread on the 2 bolts on the front of the frame rails. I'm getting the bumper welded on this morning.

Steve, just a suggestion, in the future you may want to throw a blanket or jacket over the winch line. If you ever have one come loose you'll be happy you did it.

If I were you, and they were like, "I dunno, I think we can get it (being dicks about it)", I'd say "have a nice day, good luck digging" and be on my merry way.

Thanks for pointing out my laziness. You wouldn't believe how difficult it was to keep people out of the line of fire if that line snapped. In the 3rd picture I'm to the right of the guy in the red ball cap with a tree between me and the winch line. Does anyone have any experience with synthetic winch rope? I was reading because of the lighter weight they aren't nearly as dangerous as steal wire rope.

Actually I didn't take any of the photos, I was busy helping these guys out. You can thank my girlfriend for these. One interesting thing. 2 hunters came through while we were doing this and one had bought a 2002 SE S/C for his wife. He was thrilled to see us out playing, especially winching out a redneck. He had no idea the Xterra was capable of running these trails. The hunters were a little critical of the deterioration of the trails since Disney has become popular for offroaders. The hunter driving had a lifted F-150 that had 33" tires and he was planning to go to 35" because of the condition of the trails.

Hey i just noticed this thread over on jeepsunlimited.com. First i want to thank you for pulling the guy, being that he hadnt done that for you. Second, that guy is not a jeeper, we're discussing it on our forum right now and he's an idiot, his jeep isnt even built to handle mud like that. Anyways, no one on the jeep boards out of 20,000 people that i know of are like that, we are always willing to help someone, and always end up with ungrateful losers like this more often than not. the worst being one of the Grand Cherokee owners pulling out a stuck durango, and the guy didnt even thank them, just kept smoking his joint while he got pulled out , he even had his kids in the car. Thanks for being a true "off-roader".

I think not thanking anyone is a psycological reaction to being a publicly exposed jackass. They just want to get the hell outa there. I'm not knocking anyone for attempting the mud hole, thats what everyone is out there for. I pulled out a wrecker stuck on the beach on night and got no thanks or anything. He was out there looking for people to pull out and charge them $50. Maybe I shouldn't have unhooked from him until he payed me.

My inlaws live in Bentwater.

I can't speak for all Jeep owners by any means, but I will say that Jeeps get stuck just like any other rig out there on the trail. Whether its from lack of driving skill, trail conditions, or lack of modifications to our rigs.
Honestly, I could care less who or what winches my ass out if I'm in a bad way. And I'm fairly certain that most Jeep owners would agree with me. Yes, most of us are prideful to be behind the wheel of a Jeep, but most of us are not assholes that are reluctant to be winched by a non-Jeep vehicle; this guy is one of the exceptions.

Economos, It's Samueul from the XJ forum on JU. I agree one hundred percent, as you will find most folks on this board do to.
