Simma! Simma don na!

If people don't want to take their trucks off-road, that's their choice. Just like it's your choice to ruin your paint job and never wash your truck.

Just out of curiosity, if you didn't want to hear people's opinions on this, why did you post it to the forum? [Huh?]

Well I didn’t think I would get a bunch of jackasses replying that don’t do any real off-roading and that don’t know anything about welding.

Looks like a great setup.

I think you may find the metal to be too thin to keep them positioned properly.

If you don't care about your paint.....

f%ck it!

Anybody who's ever wheeled in the northeast should be able to appreciate a setup that protects their lights from big branches!

Look no one was really bashing you out front they just gave their opinions. But you know how things work around here, if you get people wood they will make a fire. Not everyone on here off roads but a lot of us who frequent this site do off road so don't be saying we don't know anything about off roading just because we wouldnt have put our lights there. Either way either way everyone on here has there own opinion since its online they have no problem in sharing it. As long as you like it then more power to ya!

I was bashing him, I wheel, I can weld.....I could not give 2 shits about the fact he made his truck look like it came out of a 5th grade shop class...just find it knee slapping that he has such a need for back up lights to be hidden from branches that he spends $20 and ruins his rear hatch..........again great entertainment

mounted mine upside down on my roof rack, so the lights are under the rack (this way they don't get hit by branches) as are trails are tight as hell down here. been there couple years with no problems.

Another alternative involves mounting something else on the rack to protect the lights from damage. Yakima makes a nice one.

I say do what you want to your truck, if that's what turns you on. I'm not gonna knock your choice of light mounting options. I wouldn't do it myself, but that's just me.

I wish my garage were as neat and orderly as yours. laugh

OK...I'm confused.....badercarma.....you "SAY" you do some "SERIOUS" wheeling.....why are you running street tires on your truck?!? And why, for the love of God, do you still have ONE of your mud flaps on the rear?!? A "SERIOUS" wheeler would have removed his mudflaps totally, and gotten a nice set of swampers, MT's, or a VERY aggressive AT. [Too much XOC]

And if you were really going for the clean look, no offense bud, but you didn't get it. Something like this:

is the "clean look"(even though they aren't facing the rear of the truck, you could do the same thing facing rear.)

I'd take a pic of my garage and post it, but I'm even more embarrassed now. Maybe once we move the project '71 VW out on the street, I'll get enthusiastic about straightening it up some more.

ok..

Badercarma.. given the advise you have spewed out in the past and now this..

I believe it is time for a good roast.

First off I would like to ask how old you are. From looking at the images on your website I would guess you are still in high school. At least I would hope so because what you are doing to your truck is sad.

For those of you that wanted to see the outside of his house.. Here you go

And here is what the "serious wheeler" is wheeling these days.

Get a clue or go home.

first it was the whole "use the swaybar as a tow point", then it was the driving over 90mph is totally fine in the xterra, now you went ahead and WELDED your reverse lights TO THE ACTUAL HATCH!

thanks for the entertainment.
Don't foreget the "Use 120 PSI air to look for leaks in your coolant system"

That one was the uber "doh" comment.

That was a project we did for computer repair class, we were simply testing the durability of the computers in the event of an accident. Check out the videos.

Just so I get this right-You wrecked a $500 rear hatch (just looked it up used on line) to keep two $10 lights from being hit by branches when you drive off road?

This thread has made my day, thanks for cracking me up!

As for your welding, "the bigger the gob the better the job" and the hatch was trashed anyway no matter how good the welding job.
