Roll-over Angle on the X

I've looked up the manual, I've searched this web-site, I've searched google, but I couldn't find anything relevant.
Does anybody know what the critical angle for roll-over is on the X?
In other words, on a stock X, without lift-kit, without accessories on the roof-rack, etc..., at what angle of sideways tilt does the X become unstable and prone to rolling over?

I do not know that anyone has tried it out yet. I know that it depends upon your actions while in an offcamber situation. I think you can rollover at as little as 2-25 degrees. Oleg- How far off camber were you when it rolled?

I've had my Xterra at 38 degrees, and really wouldn't want to take it much further.
Well, Carlton and I were talking about that very thing last night and I figured it was pretty close to 36, so you made it farther than I thought feasible. According to that link Ian provided (nissannews.com), here are the stats:
4x2 4x4 XE SE XE SE ------------------------------- Minimum ground clearance 8.7 9.2 7.9 8.4 Angle of approach (in degrees) 29.8 30.9 29.6 30.7 Angle of departure (in degrees) 29.3 27.5 29.2 26.8

Why are there differences between approach and departure angles from an XE and an SE. ACtually why are their differences between 4x2 and 4x4? In most cases I can understand the differences beteen 4 wheel drive and not, bc of diffent suspensions, but isnt the X the same accross the board? Isnt the limiting factor the front bumper and the rear tire? John

The only thing that I can think of is weight, but the difference is only 300 pounds between the 2WD and the 4WD. Perhaps the clearance difference is due to the transfer case/differential on the front. I have not looked that closely, but I assumed they were all as high as the front crossmember. Now, the difference betweent he XE and the SE is the Sport Suspension.

Think tires! 2001 XE 2wd had P235, XE 4WD (utility pkg required) has P265, SE has the oversize rims. That would have the most to do with it.

Griffin, what else do you have in your ass? The same springs and torsion bars are used all around. The only difference in the setup across any X is that the torsion bars on the 2WD models aren't cranked as far since they don't support as much weight.

Well, I certainly wish I had one of those gauges when I rolled mine.. I know when I came to a stop I remember that it tilted to about oh say 30 degrees, and with the excessive roll force the whole thing shit the bed and bam! I landed on my passenger side.. So, I guess you could say it depends on the situation.. I probably don't know what the hell I'm talking about so I'll stop here..

The age old and most proven tool in detecting maximum angle prior to a rollover is none other than the sphincter muscle in yer ass. It has been proven by scientific research that a split second after the sphincter flexes , verbal stimulous usually follows as the rollover commences with a usually loud and anxiety filled oh sh**!!
