Hey Ian,

Would love to see a new forum added to off-topic regarding music. Outside of my Xterra and camping, music is a big love of mine. I'm sure many others would agree. I've seen many posts on the topic and think that it would be used frequently (e.g. new album reviews/picks, top 5 lists, etc.).

Respectfully Todrick, proposing a music forum is no more out of place than having a forum for Diving & Snorkeling or Watercraft. I would even argue that it is more relevant.

To find relevance, one need only to pop in their favorite CD the next time they go on a road trip or take an off-road excursion. Music sets the tone, provides the backdrop and helps tell the story. For me, music is as basic as starting my Xterra in the morning...and equally as rewarding. It is quintessentially part of the Xterra experience.

If it makes you feel better, we can call this forum..."Music to Off-road To".

I always listen to Music in the X so I can see that its more relevant than some of the off topic forums. But I don't think it has enough to do with the Xterra. Although it would be a good place to put all the "What do you listen to in your Xterra" threads.

The original forum structire of XOC was based on the early Xterra advertisements of Nissan. They featured people doing outdoor things, and the Xterra was used to get the there.

As time goes by, people request more and more forums even though they really have nothing to do with the Xterra.

I eventually have to say "No" and put an end to it, as the board has grown well past reasonable in size.

That's cool Ian. You can't blame a music freak like myself for trying. I will probably take Todrick's suggestion about creating a thread in the clubhouse.

I am a music freak as well, I guess your newer and don't really know that.

I have been in two bands that toured nationally and one with a modest record deal... with headlining gigs in 1k - 3k venues.

Music makes the world go round, for every major event in my life I can associate it with a song that I was either listening to or liked at the time, its just the way my brain is wired.

That's why I responded the first time. Not because I don't agree with your idea, but because I understand Ian's logic and figured you hearing it from another music lover would have more meaning.

The band is now Defunct.

The name was K.D.C. (Kevorkian Death Cycle)
Genre was "Industrial". Although some music experts credited us with starting a sub-genre called "EBM" and others tagged it "Grave"(Gothic Rave)

regardless it was a fun ride.
I joined just after the "Dark Skies" Recording sessions. and did that tour, I then "left" the band after recording some of the "A+0(m)" sessions only to return for shows and to do the album artwork.

Do a google search, you'll get several hits and a few links to some music samples.

LOL, In googling i found this Gem.... take a wild guess who he is refering to:
