Poll suggestions - find out how many XOC members/visitors side with which loudmouths.
First do ILUVMYX vs. NY Madman.
Then do Off2cjb vs. Xterrapin.

Companies (like Toyota) are phasing out manual transmissions (you can't get one in a 4Runner) as Americans get lazier and lazier and require more input from their small brains to operate their cell phone and laptop while driving, instead of shifting.[/b]Yes, I can't find a manual tranny in about half the new cars I'm looking at. But I drove the 5-speed before I got the automatic. Piece of junk. So spongy, I was never really sure I was in gear . . . maybe I just got a bad vehicle to test drive? The transmission in the 5-speed Xterra was really not too nice . . . the three-speed in my Jeep feels so much more responsive and accurate . . . (damn, I gotta get that thing running . . . )

I don't know... I had a 94 ford ranger, manual, and a 97 ford ranger XLT, extended cab, and I have to say, when I started driving the Xterra, I loved the way it shifts... Also, we had this super crappy Alpha Romeo that you had to man handle to get into gear...
