Anonymous
Unregistered

The Texas 4 Wheel Jamboree Nationals will be held April 2-3 at the Gillespie County fairgrounds in Fredericksburg, Tx.

The jamboree is open to all trucks, and has events that all trucks can enter (even stock trucks wink ) . David Figg (operations manager of special events - familyevents.com) said they are expecting at least 500 trucks, and 20,000 people over the weekend.

The events you can enter are:
Mickey Thompson Tough Truck Challenge
Monster Truck Racing
Mud Bog
Mickey Thompson Tires Burnout
Show-n-Shine (Over 100 Awards & Prizes)
Super Prize Drawings- Win Valuable Prizes
Bikini Contest at the MSD Main Stage
Performance Marketplace - Vendor Row

If you choose to enter any of the events you get a license plate for your truck that says " 4 Wheel Jamboree Nationals" and a chance to win great prizes. You can register online @ www.familyevents.com, by calling 1-877-413-6515, or you can register at the jamboree. Pre-registration is $25 if you register online before March 25th, Onsite registration is $40. You can also register but filling out the back of one of the jamboree flyers (I have 16.. if anyone wants one to send in, let me know).

Spectator tickets at the gate are $13 for an adult, and $7 per child. You also get $2 off the gate admission with the flyer (1 ticket per flyer per person). You only have to pay once, and your good for the weekend.

If we register 5 or more club members to enter events, we get $5 off of each entry. I'm not sure if that is only for the members that registered or for the club as a whole.. I will find that out asap.

They are also looking for volunteers to help with the event. If our club decides to help, they will send us some flyers (free of charge) to pass out. The flyers we get will have a code on them, and when people hand them in our club will receive $1 for every flyer with our code. Our club can keep the money wink or send it to a charity of our choosing. Clubs that volunteer will also get a booth at the event free of charge, where we can sit, talk to people, sign up new members, and all that fun stuff.

I know a lot of our members are spread out all over Texas. Familyevents is offering discounts through a travel agent on hotel rooms. If you would like a hotel room you can go to www.hotel-registration.com .There are also a lot of places in Fredericksburg to camp (I haven't seen where, but im told there are a lot of places) if you would like to do that instead.

I cant figure out why my scanner isn't working frown but when I get it to work I will scan in the flyers, license plate, and stickers I have so ya'll can see what im talking about wink . I know I have left some things out, and when I remember what they are I'll let ya know.

This is something we can do to have fun, and better the club by handing out flyers and recruiting new members.

If you would like to volunteer please speak up, so we can figure out how many flyers we need them to print up for us.

-Athena

Does anybody have any interest in going to this? We do not have to partake in showing off, but we can hang out, camp and just check things out.

Please respond if you are interested, or the topic may float off into the ether.

Club officers, please check the www.swxc.org officer forum in regards to this. I need your 'stamp of approval' for some questions Athena posed.

if anyone wants to be in the events, it would be cheaper to register now, then when you get there. save yourself some monies!

Also..

I ordered the flyers for the club, so those of you who are going, if you want to PM me your address, i will send you a flyer. You get $2 off gate admission, and get the club money for turning in the flyer. I will also be sending the the 4wheel jamboree nationals sticker along with the flyer.

Looks like I'm going by myself... wife can't make it. I want to take the trailer so I guess I'm going in the Titan. I'd really like to have the X there but don't tow with it.

Anybody from up north going and want to tow the trailer? I'll pay for the extra gas wink

Anybody going is welcome to crash in the trailer.

Don't know if anyone made it but didn't see anyone.

Stormy took 3rd in Best of the Rest.

Only Nissan on the property that was competing.

This was huge and next year will be bigger. Overheard some serious conversations about BIG vendors coming.

Had fun and a great sunburn to boot! [Smoking]

Clint, that's what I'm wondering too. I had forgot my camera but Scott's brother had his. Scott was supposed to get them from Ken so he could post them.

Good time and I know they got some good pics

My brother has video and pics. He is sending them to me on CD and DVD. (Dunno why he did not just email the stills). Once I get em, I'll post em.

I have some pix. Mostly of the monster trucks jumpin' and stuff. Don't have but one or two of vehicles (those are of mine anyway). I don't really care for the super mallcrawlers. Like the H2 on 40's with a $10k paint job.
