Hey...I know I have asked this before....but am I going to be fine getting all the way back on BRT with a stock Xterra?
She has served me well for 6+ years now but I am still to make any major mods.
Thanks

Stock rigs do just fine. Would be best not to have mud flaps or rails.

Thanks....I do already have those off along with rocksliders so I do have a little protection.
I was asking becaue I found some older photos that had captions of people climbing up hills that stated they needed "lockers"? Is that not the case any more or did they just make it a whole lot easier?
Thanks

I've been dying to test out the new vehicle (and run BRT) but unfortunately already have commitments that weekend. (Overnight kayaking trip on Tomales Bay.) I might try and hit BRT the following weekend. Have fun!

Couple more questions...not familiar with the camping at BRT so wanted to clear this up......it will dictate how I pack:
1. I assume this is a port in and out your own trash correct? 2. Are you allowed to have campfires? 3. Bring in your own water? 4. Bathroom facilities? I take it there are none? 5. Is this area good for mountain biking? (Thinking of bringing mine). 6. Is this a family friendly trip....I am thinking about bringing my 3 year old. Please be honest here.....would hate to get her back there and then her being there puts a damper on anyone's fun.
Also.....what time do you think I can expect to be back in the Sacramento area Sunday? I have a family function to make it to early Sunday evening.
Thanks

Bathroom facilities? I take it there are none? Outhouse 5. Is this area good for mountain biking? (Thinking of bringing mine). It is a great area for the hardy mountain biker 6. Is this a family friendly trip....I am thinking about bringing my 3 year old. Please be honest here.....would hate to get her back there and then her being there puts a damper on anyone's fun. Except for Andy (J/K), yes. My wife and daughter will be there also.
Also.....what time do you think I can expect to be back in the Sacramento area Sunday? I have a family function to make it to early Sunday evening. If we leave at 9 you should be home at about 3-4.

Thanks for the answers. Even though I may regret it :-) I am gonna bring my daughter. I will have to try and think of ways to keep her entertained. By the way how old is your daughter? The only problem I have is keeping her entertained in the car. I think once we hit dirt....and the speed is slow and controled I will let her swing around and sit up front with me. She will enjoy that more. Is that what time we are planning on getting out Sunday morning? 9:00am? If so like you said we should be good. Also.....can I get some general directions on where to meet someone and what time for heading in on Saturday? Anyone else heading in on Sat? Thanks

Hello Did you guys and gals see the latest weather report? 60% chance of rain on Saturday...following up with Rain again on Sunday. Snow flurries overnight at that elevation is reported to happen? Here is the link: http://www.weather.com/activities/other/other/weather/weekend.html?locid=USCA0672&from=search Is this trip still on rain or shine? What is this trail rating turned into when wet for a stock Xterra? At this point with rain my daughter wont be going.....and I am second guessing my attendence with a stock rig at this point. Thanks

Ok guy/gals......I will probably regret it but I am gonna bow out at the last second here. Gonna err on the side of staying home in the wet weather rather then head up to 8,000 plus feet and be in it. Plus if my daughter isn't gonna go to be honest it kind of takes some of the luster off it for me.
Supposed I will wait (again) for hopefully the next time/first time you guys go in spring 2006. I just think this was never meant to be for me. lol Last weekend was gorgeous weather as was the weekend before. A weekend to late this year for me.
Gary thanks for offering to meet me but go ahead I will catch you next time. Looking forward to seeing your pictures and I hope I am wrong on the weather and it plays out great for you guys.
Take care...have fun...see you next time.
Ryan
