Well it's that time of the year again! Here's the info I have so far:

Nissan Xterra USA Championship
September 25

Incline Village
Lake Tahoe, CA

It's going to be very similar to last year, highlights include:

-event shirt and goodies
-Xterra contest (with trophies)
-off-road excursion
-lunch provided

Plus much more. Last year there was a climbing wall, Xterra RC cars, massages, etc...

Janet informed me that the Big Bear event in So. Cal has 30 vehicles signed up (a new record!). We need to beat that number!!! smile

Please sign-up as early as you can so I can let Janet know how many vehicles to expect and so I can try to figure out something for camping/lodging.

Is my Pathfinder welcome? wink

If we don't run Dusy on the weekend before, I'll go.

Would we camp at Zephyr Cove, like last year? If there's going to be a larger turnout, we'd need to make reservations pretty soon.

We should plan an easy trail run (even 2WD-friendly, such as Genoa Peak ) on Saturday afternoon, and a more advanced run (i.e. Barker Pass OHV) on Sunday morning. *Note: there is an easier version of the Barker Pass route, which doesn't require driving over Dollar Hole obstacle, effectively making that run stock 4WD-friendly. (I think that's the route that Greg took last year.)

Dean, ofcourse your Pathy is welcome, as with any other Nissan truck or SUV.

So I was thinking about Zephyr Cove for this year also, but it really depends on the group size. How does everyone feel about undeveloped camping vs. developed camping? Undeveloped would be free (obviously) but no bathrooms and other simple accomidations, but it would be easier to arrange. Developed camping would require more planing and I'd need to know ahead of time an approx car count so let me know if you are considering the event. smile

About the wheeling, I agree with Barker. There will be two groups; modified will run Barker OHV, and stock will run Barker Loop and the area. For Sat I'm up for suggestions or what Dean suggested will work for me.

Yeah if you can squeeze in a stock friendly run like Genoa Peak or the Barker Loop Run (you can also make a stock friendly run on this loop to the Ellis Peak lookout) on Saturday you can count me in.....as of now that date is clear on my calendar.

1. Huey (fairly sure I will go)
2. Sean
3. Kenny ("KJ" - Pretty sure) I know a GREAT Sushi place in North Lake.
4. Slamson00....no camping up and back Saturday

Dunno, we were close to that in Richmond earlier this year. Don't remember the exact number, but it was a good turnout.

Hi guys!
It sounds like a blast, but I'm not sure yet. If I do go, I won't do any runs. I'm trying to convince someone to come with me!

***Edit***

Don't reserve your space quite yet...I need to figure out trails and may change the camping location. I'll post an update tonight or tomorrow.

There seem to be quite a few spaces open still. Each space can fit two vehicles so if you want to pair up with another member and book one spot that would work best.

***Link delted for now***

If you don't want to camp with the group, there are many hotes around Tahoe. For refernce our camp spot is in South-East Lake, so a South Lake hotel would work...or if you are tight on cash you can do a search for primative camping, there are spots near Barker that will work.

I just reviewed a map of Lake Tahoe, and it occurred to me that Barker Pass is completely on the other side of the lake from Zephyr Cove. If we participate in the event in Incline Village, we will need to drive all the way to Tahoma to run Barker Pass, then circle back around to Zephyr Cove to camp. That looks like a lot of driving to me. Perhaps it's better to run Genoa Peak on Saturday instead of Barker.

[edit: I checked campsite availability at DLBliss and SugarPine, but they're already booked.]
