Well it's that time of the year again.

Nissan North America, Inc. invites you to celebrate the outdoor lifestyle that is Xterra at the Nissan Xterra USA Championship in Incline Village, NV on Saturday, October 1, 2005.

There's a wealth of activities planned - trail runs, fun events and activities for children at the Nissan Kids Base Camp, exhibits and demonstrations culminating in the Nissan Xterra USA Championship off-road triathlon October 2. Nissan Xterra Owners are an important part of the action, and we have planned activities exclusively for you.

There'll be a "Best of Show" contest of Xterra vehicles, with trophies for first place in each division: best custom, best stock and Xterra lifestyle. Nissan will treat you to lunch and present you with a special gift. You'll also receive an event t-shirt and may race in any of the events with our compliments. So plan to join us in Incline Village with your friends, your family and your Xterra!

OK, so here's an update on lodging. I tried a few camping places all of the ones on Reserve America require atleast two nights stay. I also tried a few others not on Reserve America, but none had space left. So here are your options.

1. Book a hotel, I'd do this soon. I found a few good prices on Hotwire.com (basicaly less then the cost of two nights camping).

2. Book two nights at one of the Reserve America camp grounds.

3. Join me at a few selected undeveloped camp spots on Barker Pass. The down side to this is that we need to get there early to claim a spot. Personally I think we can fit most everyone in unless this group gets too large.

Missed the last two years.....looking forward to going this year. Sounds like there are some fun events planned for the Kids at the event so I will be bringing my daughter (3 years old).

What off road trail will we be doing in the afternoon? Just curious....have to introduce my daughter to trail driving also and don't want to start her off on one that is too difficult.

What about camping on the west shore of Lake Tahoe this year? It puts us closer to the Barker Pass OHV / Rubicon trailhead.

Meeks Bay Campground is open and has sites available for October 1.

Okay. I just prefer camping next to camp fire for outings to staying at a hotel. I prefer staying in a hotel if I'm on a vacation.

Hmmm, sounds like a good one to bring the family and the Titan on. I'll have my wife, 8yr old boy,and 4yr old girl with me.

We are thinking about it, this would be our first time, but I'd have to miss a Saturday class I have, so not sure yet...When do you need a commitment by?
If we come, can we bring the Lab puppy? We're in the East Bay and we love Tahoe! Big part of the reason we got the Off-Road 4x4, although we are new to SUV's and off-roading, when we went to Fallen Leaf Lake in April, it was snowed in, and our car was a poor vehicle to deal with it!

I should warn you she's 80 lbs. of pure energy! She's a year old, but a big baby!

Okay we're in! We'll join you for Sat only, but rather than get up at 4:30 or so, we'll go up Fri. and meet you Sat. a.m. at the Union 76 in Incline Village. We're going to stay in a cottage(Pine Cone Resort) between Round Hill and Zephyr Cove. Look for us in Night Armor, and as of yet, we don't have plates.

What trail did you guys hit on sunday? Barker again?

My club ran slickrock and deer valley on saturday and geoff and I tossed around the idea of calling home and having someone look up where you guys were staying. The original plan was to camp on deer valley but we ended up turning around near the water crossing and going back to hwy 4. That left us with nothing to do on Sunday so the thought of looking for you guys crossed our minds.
